  1. Greetings Adam. Welcome to the FISD. I'm also a new member to the Carolina Garrison. Make sure you log in and subscribe to the public forum through the user control panel. You should see a tab labelled user groups. Once you've done that you should be free to post.

    Peace,

  2. I'm really excited about starting this amazing journey with such a remarkable group of talented and knowledgable group of like-minded individuals. I've been tracking my FedEX shipment from Rob (every 20 minutes) and it's estimated to arrive later the week. I guess FedEX doesn't work weekends.

TIM: are you available for PM? I've been reading your build thread and had a question about the magnets you used--mainly what size. I have found some neodymiums on Amazon (100 @ $7) but I don't know if they are too small (1/4" x 1/16").

    Peace,

  3. I've been lurking in the background for quite some time but wanted to take a brief moment to "reintroduce" myself.

The reason being: I've received confirmation that my RT-Mod armor is currently on its way from up north!  After sitting on the waiting list for a few months, I'm finally going to receive my suit which is estimated to arrive sometime next week.

I've been searching the forums on builds, tips and techniques and hope I might be able to reach out to the local garrison for help.

    Peace,

  4. It's going to be several months before I get my RT-Mod suit but I've been researching a lot of information for building my E11.  I'm familiar with the Doopy kits but I have questions about them...

Aside from tools, paint, glue, etc., what other parts or components are required to complete a Doopy build?

How difficult is it to put one of these kits together?

Part of me would like to find a finished build but prices on those things are way too high compared to a Doopy kit.  I'm simply trying to decide if this kind of project is going to be a headache or it's something I can tackle.

    Thanks for your feedback

  5. Greetings everyone!

My name is Eric and I am a new member to the FISD forums.  I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now but have decided to take the plunge and start posting.  I'm very excited to be here and I'm looking forward to to researching more and more information as I begin my journey into trooping.

As of yet, I do not have armor but based on my initial research (and measurements), I think my best choice in suits will have to be the RT-Mod.  I'm about 220 lbs and 6'2".  My weight is evenly distributed but I don't see too many other options at this point.  I have already reached out to Rob at RT and he's no longer accepting orders for the remainder of the year so I have no other choice but to go on a waiting list for 2014

I'm not a member of a garrison, yet, but have hopes of fitting in with the Carolina Garrison.

I will continue my research for when I'm finally able to get my suit but I'm sure I will have tons of questions before that time.

Thanks for putting together a remarkable resource of information!  I look forward to chatting it up soon!

    Eric G.
