Heh... Yeah. Soren definitely makes a very, very good point!

Welcome Josh, to FISD!!
Have you been in contact with the Alabama Garrison yet? If not, head over to www.starwarsalabama.com. Great group of guys, very helpful. You are also right up there in the area where they all live, so you should have no problem linking up with them for a potential Armor Party or a Troop or two.
Welcome, again!

Diana... the frustrating part is "waiting" for the armor kit to arrive. My wait time is July 2014. I just ordered a helmet kit from one of the members (Scootch). So that will be my first experience.
I'll second this. I'm waiting until "Spring-Mid 2014" for my armor. Tom Petty covered it all for us a long time ago: The waiting is the hardest part. (I think. Honestly I can't speak for anything other than the waiting at this point in time. )
Good luck!!

Welcome Lance, to FISD!!!

Damn. I was slightly excited for a second there - based on the back log at TKboots.
Luckily, my armor won't be ready until next spring/summer so I don't need to splurge on boots that are nearly twice as much $ and not Centurion certifiable.
Patience is a virtue. I guess. If you want to be a jedi or something...

Welcome Jacqui, to FISD!!
Currently, I'm much like you - I don't have armor yet. In the meantime, you should check out this link and the posts in it. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/ They will help you figure out all of the different things that you really need to know before you plunge into the dark world of white armor!
Good thing is that you found FISD before you found "an awesome deal on ebay!"
You'll be alright. Read up and ask the unanswered questions!!

Welcome Toller, to FISD!!
Also, a fine thank you to Thunder Bay for developing Patrick Sharp! We Chicago hockey fans greatly appreciate the years of work!!

Thank you sir. I've perused the trooper's manual and have a plan; now to hook up with the right locals.
Ah, the locals.
A wretched hive of scum and villainy. No doubt, you'll find someone who's able to help you.

Welcome Knick, to FISD!!
Truthfully, your armor does look quite great! Well done so far.
-
Yeah... Wow. Quite the lazy approach. As you pointed out, the Brow and all of the S-Trim, etc were left on for the molding process.
Might look nice sitting on a shelf someplace, but hardly ideal for using and trooping, I'd imagine.

Welcome Antonio, to FISD!!
Congratulations on joining the 501st!!

Welcome Richard, to FISD!!!

Yeah.... Here I was, reading the thread, prepared to give you a warm welcome to FISD, and you went THERE with it.
So, I'll give my standard welcome: Welcome Joey, to FISD!!
Then, I'll add this: Even though you're Air Force.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your trooping tomorrow!

Welcome Braydon, to FISD!
As a newb myself, the best advice I can give you is to take their advice! (and read the getting started forums!)

Welcome Karina, to FISD!

Wow... I'm intrigued, but I'm like you. I have no clue how to do all of that, or if it could be useful for mold making / armor pulling but it is pretty freaking cool and as you said, interesting.
-
NICE!!
EOD Helmet, that is.
I'd recommend checking out the Battlefield series. More team-based than CoD, and BF4 is going to be 64 players online for next gen....
Enough of that though... BRING US A NEW BATTLEFRONT!!!!!

Awesome stuff!
Well done, Troopers!

Diana,
My armor is being built by Rob at RT-Mod. I chose him because his armor is sculpted for a larger sized trooper. At 6'2" and 220 (ish) pounds, I'd have some black space showing with a lot of the other armor makers. I'm sure you recall Leia asking "aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper" when Luke came into the detention cell, the original troopers were all about 5'10" and 175 pounds. That being the case, you'll find that most of the armors are sculpted to roughly those proportions.
As you've already seen, there are some threads that help female troopers decide/understand which armor is best for adapting for your personal use, much as I had to look for a kit that would adapt easily for me. Looking forward to seeing what happens with your armor!
