  1. Awesome share, Glen.  I may just have to follow all of your posts.  LoL.

Personally, I think that the Doopydoos pipe kit looks pretty good.  Certainly for a first entry into an E-11 to supplement the armor.  I fully agree with some of the earlier posts in that it is probably a far better decision to spend your money up front, on a good, solid set of screen accurate armor, and then upgrade the accessories (and/or the armor) as you go.

I may have myself an E-11 long before I get my armor, due to the length of the wait list that I'm on.

  2. Awesome stuff, Brenton!

Thanks for the share.  I've honestly just begun to assemble the list of accessories that I need to purchase for my armor, the undergarment being one of them, as I'm on a wait list for armor that will last until next year sometime.  In the meantime though, I've got boots (4 week wait) and undergarments at the top of my list and my wife wants to go to Dicks and Academy Sports this weekend to look for an elliptical.  I believe that I may be making a purchase as well now.  LoL

    Thanks again!

  3. Glen, I greatly appreciate that advice.  I've actually already decided that is the path that I want to take (EIB/Centurion).  It seems mostly simple as you said, to just aim for the highest levels right from the start.  Unfortunately, the wait list that I'm looking at seems to be quite lengthy so it may be awhile before I get to the actual build thread itself.  In the meantime though, I'm going to be putting away the cash to pay for the armor when the time comes, and continue to research as I begin buying the supporting accessories like boots, undergarment, belt, gloves, etc...

  4. Just wanted to follow up and say thank you to all of you for the welcome.

After a great deal of research and some small discussion with members of the local garrison, I have a place amongst other fine people on the wait list for some armor.

    Now...

My agony of waiting begins again, all over again!!

This one somehow seems better, but worse, all at the same time...   ;)

  5. Gazmosis,

Thank you for the warm reception and the good looking out.  While I am from Chicago (Cicero, originally), I am also a member of the US Army, and I currently live in lower Alabama.  Although I truly appreciate the extension of assistance and hospitality, it would prove difficult over the actual distance involved.  Perhaps I will one day return to the Midwest, but for the time being, I am entrenched in the deep south.

Thank you again, for the welcome!!

I truly look forward to one day being a member of one of the garrisons!

  6. At which time, I was a young lad of 4, going on 5.

The wind carried with it whispers of an adventure unlike anything on my planet...  The story of a boy, a girl, and a universe.  A big, sprawling space saga of rebellion and romance....  an epic of heroes, and villains, and aliens from a thousand worlds.

There was nothing in the world that I wanted more than to see that adventure first-hand, but my parents made me wait in agony while they went and saw it without me, to ensure that it was appropriate for me to see.  Ultimately, they took me to see it.  I don't know if it was because they felt it was acceptable, or because my whining and begging were agony that they could not endure.

Fast forward about 36 years, and here I am.  Tim.  A young lad of 41, going on 5 who still wants nothing more than to be one of those ANH Heroes that burst through the smoke as they boarded the Tantive IV in pursuit of the stolen Death Star Plans.

This time though, there is no waiting on parents.  It is about finding the information and resources and having an understanding (or at least tolerant) wife.

I am honored to be here amongst like minded souls, and look forward to embarking on my journey and with the assistance of you fine people, I hope to complete that journey in due time!
