    Somehow, I'd managed to completely miss your Centurion submission!!!  :(   I knew this would be an easy one for you. Just a matter of time, really.

     

    Even though I'm late to the party, Congratulations my friend!!!

    I can see that I also missed your party, so a big CONGRATS to you on your acceptance into the ranks of the white knights! :)

    I have it on good authority that there will be another EI submission very soon.I can personally assure you that when I finally am done building the armor in the box(es) that should be shipping in the next couple of weeks, I will be doing so! ;)How are things?

    Niiice :)... Looking forward to it Tim.

    Things are good, 1/3 of my tour to go, 4 weeks till my last R&R.....home by 8 July......(hopefully).... And you? :)

    Here is my opinion: They will get you through initial aceptance, maybe to EIB, but I am pretty confident that you will not get CEN certification with these, because overall they are not that accurate, and CEN is all about being accurate :).

     

    I have said it on many an occasion: I suggest that one pays the extra buck/dollar/pound to get a pair of proper boots, that will last you a lifetime, are good to walk in (you spend quite a lot of hours on your feet while trooping), and are very accuarte at the same time (I have made a thread about it).

     

    A lot of people are hung up on TKBoots, and I am not trying to talk bad about them, but they are really not that accurate IMO. White leather and white elasticband instead of dyed white, plastic soles instead of leather...I would choose Loakes 290 or similar any day.

     

    You can use either acetone or painthinner, but like I told you in the PM, I advise not to scub, sand or anything like that, as it will kill the leather.

    Hey Soren! Thank you for the follow up on the application photos. To me, all Centurion applications should be an example of "how to do it". Pretty much every aspect of both this application and your armor are both! 

     

    CRL Requirements:

    All required application photos submitted. Your armor contains all necessary details for Centurion status. Excellent build. Your Garrison should be proud to have you along side of them! Congratulations!!!

     

    Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:

    I have nothing to add in regards to your build. But I can suggest a couple things that may save you some grief in the future. First, You elastic is fraying a lot on your inside connections. Heat a nail or something similar over a flame and slowly drag it across the cut end. This will seal the cut preventing further fraying. As for the fraying of your waist belt, you can mix up some all purpose white glue or fabric glue in water and brush it gently brush it over and in between the sewn layers. It will do a lot to seal your belt edges without taking away the look.

    Nope, no good..., blank leather, additional stitching on the front....if they will get you through basic approval I am unsure, but. i doubt it.....

    Well, judging from this pic, unfortunately the heel is too high, and the elastic band is covered with leather. Whether it is showstopper for basic approval I am unsure, but quite confident that they wont be up to EIB or CEN standards......
