  1. I've mended all grey colors ... after that I painted the buttons again. First drawing the circles ... ... and violà, ready I think that I have to paint the buttons twice, because there are still crazing ... I started with the strapping. First of all kidney/posterior and the shoulders kidney/posterior: and the shoulders: I'm very afraid of strapping all the other armor pieces. Please, hold tumbs. And if there are any tips or tricks of "how-to-strap-easier" so PLEASE TELL ME!!! :D greets, Markus
  2. I correct the color and painted the black buttons grey "Humbrol Dark Admiral Grey 5" I have to repair and paint the buttons twice, because the color got cracks.
  3. The buttons on the AB plate are already painted. The colors are cited in this threat: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/8117-helmet-ab-paint-detail-reference-guide/ and that's my workflow: the rubber washer has the right diameter and so I drawed a circle for better painting the buttons: "Humbrol midnightblue gloss 15" "Humbrol black gloss 21". I know it isn't 100% movie accurate, but I thought black looks better. I think it looks good ...
  4. Next step in my build are the drop boxes. One cut on each edge ... ...and after taht trimming with the scissors and stanley knife after trimming: I cut the drop boxes down to 11-12mm. If THIS is the hanger for my desired centurion status, then I gladly correct my work backside frontside Next "project": BELT. First of all I meassured and drawed lines to know where to drill: after that I put a rubber washer between the elastic strap of the drop boxes. I don't know if that was unnecessary or not. But sure is sure Next step: drilling the belts (fabric and ABS ammo) and the AB plate: test fitting cannot hurt after all I drilled and riveted everything: Unfortunately I noticed too late that I have already to paint the buttons of the AB plate. But it is NOT TOO LATE, because I only riveted one side Next task for me: paint buttons Markus over and "AUT"
  5. Paul, I still have found the measurements for the attachment, but it is the wrong for ROTJ. It's only for ANH (and ESB), I think. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/34-howto-attach-your-belt-to-the-ab-plate-and-drop-boxes/ Do you have the measurements for me you wrote? greets, Markus
  6. cool, thx! Is it specified where the hole in the ab plate is? greets, Markus
  7. Gratulations!!! Good luck and have fun with trooping! :-D sent from Deathstar
  8. Thanks, but I think I don't quite understand... You mean that the ammo belt (plastic) is first then the strap for the drop box and then the belt (fabric), right? But you also said that I have to think about the washer BEHIND the ab plate. Do you mean that the belt is riveted on the ab plate too??? Where do I have to set the washer? Sorry for my ignorance Now there are so many questions ... How far dangle the drop boxes down from the belt? How much is the distance between the belt and the top of the drop boxes? How thick have to be the drop boxes? How does the strapping for the armor work? I know: "gluing" , but is there anything to care for or to know? Paul, can you send some pictures of "how strapping the armor", please? thanks, Markus
  9. I still have some questions about the belt: -) Are the rivets at the half of the width of the ammo belt? -) Which distance has the rivet to the first "ammo box" of the belt? -) The corners are not rounded off and cutted at right angles, is that right? -) CRL: "The Drop Boxes are aligned under the plastic tabs of the ammo belt." - I'm not very good in English, ... what does this mean? Greets, Markus
  10. I took one of the endcaps off to drill and rivet the belt clips. First I meassured as in the CRL's required (=47,5mm): ... then the drill ... ... controlling ... After rivetting of the belt clips I glued the endcap again. The length of the TD is still 190,5mm After that I want to glue the final part of the TD - the control panel: a look from the "side": I drawed a line to picture the position of the control panel. It is on the opposite of the rivets. Is that the right position?
  11. I removed one endcap now and will drill the two holes in the pipe. Then I will rivet the metal clips. should I know anything else about it?
  12. The "pipe" is trimmed now and the second endcap is already glued. I meassured and cutted the "pipe" to the size I needed and rasp the end to get the endcap fit (I hope everyone understand my bad english ) After that I drawed a line to rasp until that line. The result after cutting, rasping and many test-fittings I glued the endcap. It fits perfect!!! 190,5mm as required - Here I would note that I didn't 'cheat' with the scale by "moving it into right position"!!! Maybe tomorrow I can finish the TD (I hope so ...) - this is how it would looks like: cu
  13. After a long time doing nothing (cause of my job) I continued trimming the Termal Detonator. These are the results at the moment: now I have to cut down the "pipe" to the required size 190,5mm (inclusive both endcaps).
  14. I'm going to assemble the Thermal Detonator. Does anybody know the width of the end caps and how wide is the gap between the control panel and the end caps?
  15. I have already rivetted the shoulder straps in the front. I think it looks quite good ...
  16. Ok, then I will rivet and paint them white! Thanks, Paul!!! PS.: what color-number shall be the white one (for the rivets) to choose the same color as the armor!
  17. @humperdingle: no problem. I know that it's very hard to follow EVERY Threat ;-) Is there any risk of not getting the CEN, when I'll rivet the straps? AND the rivets are not painted white, right? sent from Deathstar
  18. can anybody tell me how many rips of the shoulder stripes are affixed in the front and in the back? Are 5 correct?
  19. Abdomen and chest are finished except two points. I had to glue them again, but I'm shure now I FIXED it http://s1098.photobucket.com/user/mar_v85/library/Chest%20and%20Abdomen%20finished I also glued the kidney/posterior. Once I measured incorrectly, so I had to add a little piece ... I hope it will looks good ... http://s1098.photobucket.com/user/mar_v85/library/Kidney%20and%20Posterior%20gluing
  20. the back is ready now I have a question about the kidney/posterior armor: The CRL requires that the edges of the hip areas should be rounded/curved. Now I drawed a line with a pencil to show you, how I would cut. Is that right, or have I misunderstood that? greets, Markus
