  1. Requesting 501st access, TK11863 http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=20849&costumeID=124 Thanks, Brian (XiliX)
  2. I understood what you were trying to explain. That's what I did and it worked great. Thanks for the help.
  3. How much return edge should the neck have and how much return edge should the bottom edge that overlaps the ab plate have? <br><br> Thanks for any and all replies, <br><br> XiliX
  4. I have an ATA kit. One side is a smooth curve. The other side has some sharper curves towards the outside edges. When I say sides, I mean the horizontal sides.
  5. Just unsure. <br><br><br> Thanks for any and all replies <br><br> XilliX
  6. Thanks Daniel. I also looked and could seen no requirement. I actually think it might hide under the plastic a little better. Thanks for the input.
  7. I could only find 1.5 inch elastic for my shoulder straps. If that won't do, I'll order some 2 inch online. However, since the elastic is under the plastic floating strap, I didn't think it would matter. I haven't attached it yet. I wanted to ask first. Thanks for any and all feedback XiliX
  8. I haven't sized the right one yet but, it does look like it will work fine. The edges where the strip is attached are much wider than those on the left side. If I can't get the left one to work to my satisfaction, I think I'll order another right like you did.
  9. Thanks for the advice Airborne. Strengthening from the back was something I thought about. The guns that I have are left over from 20 years ago from when I was in college. I definitely wasn't bragging Thanks again for the advice.
  10. I've begun assembling my ATA kit finally. I cut the left bicep, the one that is tapered, leaving a 5/16th inch strip on each side of the bicep so as to use a 5/8th inch finishing strip. When I test fitted it, before gluing a strip on, I had about a half inch gap between each side. I'm going to try some suggestions on resizing the shape using hot water but I think I will still have a problem. Relaxed, my biceps are about 13 inches. Flexed, they are 15.5 inches. Is it okay to use 1 inch finishing strips to cover the gap? Thanks for any and all advice. It's been a while since I've been on the boards but it's good to be back. XiliX
  11. Great tip. My bucket was a little soft there also. I took some two part epoxy and the washers that were supplied with the tips and bonded the washers to the inside of the helmet. I then added some two part epoxy around the washers where it still seemed soft. They are now very solid.
  12. Thanks guys. I grabbed the last medium they had it looks like. I plan on adding some thin stiff foam for sizing. I appreciate all the replies.
  13. Here's a replacement padding system for a motorcycle helmet. It looks like it would take some trimming and might be a bit warm. ----------- Anyway, if any of you outstanding folks have had experience with either of these, please give me your input. Thank you. XiliX
  14. Mark, that's a good idea. I have a switch with a small LED in it to indicate it's on. I've wired it up so that it's on all the time and it's not quite enough drain to keep the battery on. However, I'll look for one that pulls a little more voltage. Andrew, you're correct. They are rechargeable ni-cad batteries. They recharge using a phone charger and their output is 5v. Once they're charged and turned on, they need a little voltage drain in order to stay powered on. If there is no voltage drain, they go into a sort of sleep mode and don't provide power until you turn them on again. My issue is, that if they are in the helmet, i will have to take the helmet off and turn the batteries on. It won't be easy. I just need a reliable 5v power supply and I would really prefer something rechargeable. Thanks for the replies
  15. I bought a couple of 3800 miliamp rechargeable batteries for my helmet fans (5v). They work great but if the fans aren't on, the batteries turn off. Can any of you great troopers recommend some batteries that don't go into sleep mode when I switch off the power. Thanks for all replies
  16. Thanks Tony, I'm going to use foam in strips about 1 inch wide in the top. I'm planning on only using two. Just to keep the helmet at the right height. I'm going to use as little on the back, front and sides to allow for circulation. I've been doing some research, and this is what I'm planning on using... Two fans mounted near the mic tips.------------- Hopefully, these two fans will be enough. If not, I should have enough room in the helmet to try adding two exhaust fans, as you mentioned. Thanks again for the advice.
  17. Thanks Andrew. I'd also like to ask, what type of fan. There are the ones that just blow front to back and there are the ones that draw air from the side and blow out the middle (or vice versa if you reverse the polarity).
  18. Hi all, I'm going to order two fans and a couple of rechargeable USB battery packs this week. I'll be going with 5v fans. My question is, what size fans do you recommend, 50mm, 20mm? Also, where are your fans mounted and what issues if any have you had with the placement? I've seen some of the fan packs put together here by some members like Echo. They look great, but I'm just wanting to do some extra customization to my helmet. Plus, I need something to keep me busy until my armor arrives. Thanks for any and all replies.
  19. So, I've found a few wireless mics on Amazon for around $20. I'm starting the inside of my bucket. I want a reliable wireless mic for an icomm and booster speaker setup. Thanks for the replies.
  20. Hey Justin. I don't have an AM 2.0 but I will be using this from trooperbay... http://trooperbay.com/stormtrooper-helmet-frown-screen/
