  1. Hi everyone! I recently attended my local annual Hobby Fair, and thought I'd share some pictures with you. I know I'm not a real trooper yet, but I thought it was good practice! I brought my Star Wars memorabilia (still a baby collection, mostly just toys) and displayed on two long tables. I set up a TV playing 'Star Warriors' and a couple little games for kids. By playing one game, they recieved the Imperial Cadet activity booklet on the 501st homepage open for public download (made sure I got permission for that). All in all, it was the worst turnout in Hobby Fair history, but as long as I got kids, it was fun! ^^ Next time, I'll be sure to be in costume! Pictures (sorry they are so low quality, internet being a butt): A Han Solo target for the little stormtroopers in training. A layout of all my stuffs. Close up of more stuffs. My parents ordered that Naboo N-1 all the way from California after I told them how much I wanted one. ^^ They're so nice. Some of my videos and PC games. Yes, that is the Star Wars Holiday Special at the lower right. It IS as awful as they say. Meh books. Jedi Path is my Star Wars Bible, so no one touches that one. ^^ Another hobbyist named Kyle (haha, Kyle Katarn) sat down and watched the entire Star Warriors clip. "I would so totally do this!" One of the kids that came in! He freaked out, and it was so cute! Low quality, but I set up my laptop featuring Star Wars Dark Forces.
  2. Goodbye for now, 1stISD. Moving to Krayt Clan for now.

  3. I've always wanted 3 costumes for the 501st: a stormie, a jawa, and a bounty hunter. Decided to go with the jawa first, since it's less expensive and quicker. I want a costume before I attend college in Philly. So long for now, ISD! See you in the near future!

  4. I send out my condolenses to those innocent lives who were lost. My heart goes out to the family of young 8-year-old Martin, who was anxiously awaiting his father to complete the marathon before standing too close to the explosion.
  5. OH no, I would never call myself a member or representative until I officially become one, or alter the booklet. I just want more people on this side of the Chesepeak Bay to know about the 501st, since nearly all members are over in D.C. I'll not claim the booklet as my own, either.
  6. Alright, thank you for the clarification!
  7. Ah, I see. Thank you very much for the heads up! I understand why they would be uncomfortable with it. That's why I asked. I did in fact print out some of the Imperial Cadet activity booklets found on the 501st homepage under Propaganda to hand out to the little kids. Since the Hobby Fair is mainly for older persons showcasing antiques, I thought it would be nice to be the kid friendly section. Are the booklets alright? Great! I'll post them under the NCO, just in case. Thanks!
  8. Hiya, 501 troopers! So, I'm going to be attending a Hobby Fair and showcasing my Star Wars memorabilia. I'll have a little TV set up, and some games for the kids. While I was there, I thought it would be a cool idea to spread word of the 501st Legion to Star Wars fans in my area, even though I'm not a trooper myself just yet. (Certainly, I'll have my armor by the next fair, which'll be all kinds of fun for the little ones!) There'll be lots of pictures taken, and I would love to share them. So my question is: Since it includes the 501st in some way, is it alright to post pictures of my experience in the 'Field Training Exercises' thread, even though it's not an actual troop and I'm not an actual trooper [yet]? I'm not sure where else I would put the pictures to share them, and not sure if the admins would consider it appropriate for the forum dedicated to just 501st members. If I can't do it, ah well, there's always next year!
  9. Haha, I remember The Hangar when passing through one roadtrip! Nice work troopers!
  10. Finally found me some armor! Thank you, Tupperware TK! I completely refer him: he's kind, quick to answer emails, and straightforward for beginners.

  11. Ruck, being a new recruit myself, I am feeling your pain. So far, RS Props is the best lead I've gotten so far, thanks to this thread. Sorry to hyjack this thread a bit, but where can you contact RS Props, if you mind my asking?
  12. Hmm, that's an interesting way to go at it. I've quickly found that there are many different roads people take for the same result. Thanks for the advice!
