Biceps covers trips for bigger guy
joshsurf replied to joshsurf's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
i guess what im trying to say is with the butt join meathod out at full stretch they will fit but is it ok for the coverstrip to sit back from the raised ridge. the red rectangle is the where the strip will sit (excuse the cruddy pic!!) the arrows pointing at the ridge. if i line up the coverstrip to the ridge then you can see the join seam but it i place the strip over the seam the strip is way back from the ridge! (ignore the fact that the inside is sitting inside the outer half. they will be joined up butting together)advice!?? -

so these are the pics -
How bout the smaller one? I just found this it's the closest I have found in this neck of the world! Same look but smaller size Dimensions 22x13x5.5 Thoughts? I can mod it a bit but as a base??.....

Hi I am helping a new recruit build his armour. I am having an issue with the biceps. We are using but join cover strip method but even at full stretch we can't get them to fit. The other thing is the coverstrips. What's the widest you can go at the back?
-
Good idea.mi thought I'd put these on the belt

Yeah I seen them but they are way too expensive to ship down here due to size. I don't want to pay $100 for something that is $20So the one I pictured woul be ok? Are trjere a set of min-max dimensioms that I can use if I go scratch?
-
So quite a big difference then? Has anyone scratch built a base?
-
hi im at the bottom of the world(NZ) and there are none of the nice cheap oil pans you guys use around here(and shipping makes them wayyyy to expensive!!) so im having to look at alternatives. now can someone tell me of the basic dimensions of the pack base. obviously there will be some discrepencies but a range say minimum dimensions to max would be helpful. maybe i can use a big plastic storage bin of appropriate dimensions. i have also found this: its dimensions are :27" x 5.5" X16" i need some serious help. i have everything else and im frothing to get the pack done!

Can you mix pouches or do they all have to be the same? Like leather up top and canvas on hips?

It's official! A new approved HWT reporting for duty...
joshsurf replied to The Muffin Man's topic in Heavy Weapons Trooper
Well done! I see you still have drop boxes on? So you can leave them on? -
Yeah it's all size or weight which ever is more so they can charge you both ways
-
thanks guys, that looks perfect, id love to order in the one you suggested but i cant see how they will ship to new zealand!! and given the size of it i think shipping will be pricey!
-
----------- Hopefully this link works?will this be ok as a base for the pack?
-
These look ok but are advertised as Serbian. ---------- Can some one tell me if the are mp40 poches? And can you mix n match leather and canvas?
-
but wait?? im so confused.... heres the crl ========= so the black is basic approval? or do i have to go for level2 certification? or is this a new update? also is this approvable do you think? it doesnt look as accurate as it could be but i am working on a tight budget and if this will get me basic approval then i can upgrade later with a better one i would be happy enough. ----------

Hey was wondering bout this..
It is allowable to have drop boxes for the 501st requirements. If the drop boxes are used, they dangle from the sides of the front plastic belt (ammo belt) via white straps and are aligned under the plastic tabs of the ammo belt.
This is a basic approval from the CRL. Now the question is does anyone have this drop boxes on with the HWT and if so how does the hip mounted mp40 pouches fit?
-
has there ben a change of crls lately as i have read that for basic approval you can have drop boxes still attatched? CRL: Belt For 501st approval: Belt face is made of plastic (TK ammo belt). The soft belt proper is made of canvas, or material with a canvas covering. Size is 2.75” (70 mm) to 3.25”(83 mm) wide and not wider than the plastic portion of the belt. The color is white to off-white. It is allowable to have drop boxes for the 501st requirements. If the drop boxes are used, they dangle from the sides of the front plastic belt (ammo belt) via white straps and are aligned under the plastic tabs of the ammo belt.

hey guys i need some help! i currently troop an ATA helmet. i went with them for the good price no waiting time and good looks.i love it but its coming up to time to retire it to the display stand and get a new bucket. my question is this. i found the ATA a tiny bit small for my head making it difficult to install, fans and have a mic in there too. i am looking for something bigger but with a minimal waitlist and reasonable price as i live in NZ and shipping and duty here kills the wallet!
