  1. +1 However, today I let my neighbor try on my bucket . . . and when he ripped it off of his head, he put two cracks in the left chin area where the rubber edging is!!! So, I guess I'll be trying to mix up some ABS paste tonight using scrap ABS and some ABS Glue . . . I'm glad this thread is here for encouragement!!
  2. My right knee plate fell off, and I want to reattach it more permanently. I was thinking about using ABS glue, but someone mentioned that riveting is more "screen accurate" . . . Please recommend where I can come up with a rivet gun and the proper rivets to use. Also, pix of a properly riveted knee? Thanks!
  3. I searched for BOMMAR and came up with nothing. Pointer, please?
  4. Thanks, darth nugget! I, too, wish everyone here a Merry Imperial Christmas! You'll have to wait on the booty report, as we just moved (changing me from the German Garrison to the Golden Gate Garrison) and we won't have everything in-hand for Monday. My father scored each of my boys each a Luke ROTJ green MR-FX lightsaber and for me a complete double Darth Maul MR-FX. They were on sale at Border's and he got a great deal. Once my household goods arrive from nine time zones away, I'll have to post up some pix of a clean trooper with a double red saber fighting some Jedi scum!
  5. I use Superfeet inserts in almost all of my shoes and boots, to include my Caboots TK boots. I have narrow feet, so I generally use the Green insert for low-volume feet, but the Blue insert when I actually can come across a pair of narrow shoes. The Blue insert should work for anyone with a normal width foot. I generally get them from REI . . . (SUPERFEET AT REI) I have had to do a lot of walking in my line of work (generally, with up to or over 100lbs of gear on my body, in less than pleasant environments) and I've tried all kinds of inserts. Superfeet are hands down the best and most comfortable.
  6. Thanks everybody! I wasn't quite sure what to expect the first time I went out among the masses, but the reaction was overwhelmingly positive. I didn't quite realize it . . . but I guess that my younger son's Jedi costume sort of looks like a Jawa from behind! I don't think that would make him happy, if I told him! The Trick-Or-Treating was on Patch Barracks in Vaihingen (Stuttgart).
  7. Fun was had by all. The military base where we executed Trick-or-Treating was in complete shock that a "real Stormtrooper" had invaded it. Thankfully, I knew the senior MP on duty and had full backup!
  8. Can you give me more info? For example, did you have something put together with hot melt fail? How did it fail, and what did you do to remedy the situation?
  9. When my armor was assembled and fitted to me at MFX, Guidon extensively used a hot melt glue gun (fed with Hilti glue sticks) for assembly. Each bicep, thigh, shin, and forearm was put together this way. In addition, other straps and brackets, etc, were installed w/ hot melt as well. Will I discover this to be a problem down the road? Thanks!
  10. That's a fine looking helmet rig and a great idea!
