  1. I am about to finish my minimal launcher and I'm just waiting for my doopydoos e11 conversion pieces to get here. Also I have until December before my armor should be ready. In the meantime I need a new blaster project and have decided to next build a DLT19 for my HWT.

I have been window shopping for kits and stuff as well as looking at scratch builds. Kits are expensive but I've found that I can really rack up dollars in scratch projects too. So I'm asking your opinions. Doopydoos kit? Cushman kit? Or scratch build? Bear in mind I don't want something flimsy but something with structure and heft to it. (that's why I made my minimag 12lbs!).

I plan on trooping with this weapon when my bazooka would be just a little too "much".

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I was in a similar boat, talking with both AM and ATA. I decided to commit to ATA's wait list because of the screen accuracy and ability to make it centurion grade. I'm also not that big of a guy that I would need "big guy armor." I understand it's going to be a little more work with trimming and such, but it should be worth it. AM has a great product to offer as well. Their kit comes pre-trimmed and I understand from others that it is a fairly easy build to get your suit done and functional pretty quickly.

It's all up to you and how far you want to go with your armor. Personally, I want to make my HWT as accurate as possible.

  3. I'll try to look for something loud enough. I'm sure I'll have to have some help from locals to get a decent power supply in there as well as some green strobe lights. But I may never convert it fully.

I've also found that I need to put a rhombus piece on the right and left sides. Gotta get some metallic blue paint. I also want to put a triangle piece lateral and posterior to the sight support to be more accurate to screen caps.

There is also a handle to add for my own convenience. Since ive come to the conclusion that I can't ever put this thing on a pack because of its weight.

Thank you so much for the encouraging input. This project has been my obsession over the past 5 days.

Day 5 of building. Got my coat of black paint on it and just letting it dry today. When it dries I am going to attach the cable coil to the housing assembly and then I have to find a clear blue lens for the sight and some metallic blue hobby paint for the panel next to the sight. Thinking of maybe stenciling an imperial cog logo on the outside (right) side of the box to add a little more star warsy-ness. Final touch will be to cut off extra strips of duct tape hanging around and some light weathering with high-grain sand paper to show a little more silver along the rest of the body.

    ~98% done!
