  1. Just now getting around to really start working on my armor that ive had now for 3months now haha. Heres my armor all laid out. My reaction like most was " Holy S**T!" So after trimming most of the excess off I decided to do the bucket first. Bucket was a pain to fit nothing seemed like it was made to go together! The opening seemed all caddywhompus(sp?) as if that wasnt enough of a pain it was all crooked finally got around to the ears which after all I read they werent nearly as bad as I thought. Got the paints in since I am wanting to go centurion asap. Followed pandatroopers idea on painting the black first which I think turned out pretty good. colored in grey and did the mic tips. Had to wait on tube strips from a guy at work who had to make them for me. Decided I wanted to paint the inside so I used spray plastidip to coat the inside. I still need to go in and finish the white areas. Wanted to show the guys at my unit (308th Psyop Battlion!) my progress. After that picture is when I pretty muched stopped. Working on all the fitted pieces seemed tough plus I work two jobs plus Im a weekend warrior. So since i had little confidence I reached out to my local garrison's forums which turned out to be pretty dead. Finally I got ahold of Hockeytrooper who didnt live far from me and we got together to have a mini armor party and worked on my biceps. Now that confindence was once again instilled in me I need a place to work on my armor besides work. My wife has been on a Pintrest kick and keeps showing me pallet furniture. My wife then came up with the idea to make a workbench outta pallets so Bam I made two pallet work benches and plan on making one more for a total of 10+ft of working space glory! Now ive taken off the last few days to really work to really get this thing going. tube stripes added but my stencil didnt stick very well so I had a lot of clean up. working on traps. biceps Thermal detonator pieces My work bench is getting full lol Ab Plate and buttons get worked on and ready to paint Holster I made but I dont think I like it or think its very accurate so I might end up buying one. Got my doopydoos blaster in. Just like the ATA armor when I opened the box my mouth hit the floor. I have most everything I need now except the boots which Ive been on the wait list for awhile now.
  2. I wish I could take credit but TKleper posted two videos showing basically the same process I'm doing. I made these for my ATA armor using 2inch PVC pipe. the strips are 1inch wide and 1/8 thick. If anyone is truly desperate I can try to make some for you.
  3. Thxs! Just my works shop... I found some more aluminum strips at work so I might make a few more for some local guys but I wanted to make sure that the community thought these were good enough first.
  4. Once again lol....... they are a little short in the back but I used up what was left from my last clips ---------
  5. Troopermaster do you have the measurements for those clips so I can make a pair. I can try to guess the measurements but I like to be exact haha.
  6. I've had a hard time finding what the originals looked like so I went off TKlepers videos on the design and measurements. I might make a set like that as well since it seems easier than the one with the bend and for screen accuracy. Thanks
  7. I found some scrap aluminum at work and decided to try to make my own clips. After I made them I realized that the metal I used was thicker than the ones I've seen posted. Now if I need to make new ones that's fine but I was wanting to get some opinions wether or not I could use these. ----------
  8. I'll try taking the top pad out and using just the sides. Guess I'll have to get better at helmet Tetris.
  9. Ya I can get it on if I only have one pad in but then the bucket isn't very steady I might have to try different padding instead of the military helmet pads or find some kind of strapping.
  10. I posted awhile back about the tightness of the bucket most everyone said that's normal. I was recently looking at the helmet mods and electronics that are put inside abd I notice all the padding and things and I couldn't believe they can get their head in! I added on pad (military) to mine and if I add any more the bucket will not sit low enough for me to see out. From the pictures I posted is there anything you all can see I've might done wrong? Also my head from what I can tell isn't overly large haha.
  11. I thought maybe that's how you put it on but I wanted to be sure before I added my last rivet
  12. I drilled the first set of hole in my bucket to hold it together. I figured I'd try it on for a quick picture but when I tried I could hardly get my head in and I don't even have the neck trim on yet! Are the helmets that tight of a fit or should I adjust it more? Id hate to redrill new holes. I'll post pics when I get to my computer for better reference
