Hi Adam,
Dan is right, read. Y ou will find plenty of help here. The build threads you find here will guide you to a correct 501st approvable set of TK armor.
Just do your research and take your time and you will be happy with the results.
Start here first.

Dang! Well that's definetly something that i will fix. I just looked it up, had i understood, i definetly would not have put an uncessarly hole in my armor! oh man i feel foolish about that. Good luck to you as well Wes!
That is an easy fix. You can make up some ABS paste from some scrap pieces and some acetone.

Locitus, should I resubmit in a new thread when the drop box inserts arrive or here in the same thread?

It was a long, hard road filled with drama and suspense, but we were able to pull this off in only about five weeks from when Carrie first contacted Dean Plantamura and me about it. Just absolutely fantastic work, troopers. Enormous thanks go to the other Build Team members who answered the call to action and were so willing to trim, glue, rivet, velcro, and snap together a dream for this little girl. We couldn't have found a more energized group of stormtroopers to do this, and I'm so glad that when the call was put out, that each one of you brought every ounce of your passion and talent to the project. I count myself lucky to been able to trim a few pieces and finish the boots; I just wish that I could have helped more.
To each and every member of the FISD who gave their time, money, materials and encouragement to make this happen, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Todd, I'll send Carrie a reminder about the Galactic Academy and send her the email you provided. I'll also make sure that absolutely any time that Katie wants to troop with us, she is more than welcome to armor up!
You guys rock! It is great you all were able to fit it to her so nicely. I don't think she could have had a bigger smile if she wanted to. I love being part of this organization because the joy you can see in her is really what it's all about. I have shared this I don't even know how many times on facebook, the FLG, and I don't know how many other places.

That is so awsome! She looks so happy. That is enough to choke you up a little. Thank you for sharing these with us.

Some people just do not appreciate good fun and hard work. Great job troopers! :jc_doublethumbup:

I have screws through all parts that would have, making it look as if I was using the original strapping system. But I'm not saying that you need to add that.
Right on. This is something that I will work on in the future. I don't just want to do the bare minimum.

Welcome!
-
That is why.
Yes, following my theory all the way, the bracket screws should also be visible. Would I like that? Yes. My own armour has that, even if I don't use the bracket assembly. But I can only demand so much of others, and this is where the requirements are today.
Are you talking about the bottom of the chest plate?

Thank you sir. I appreciate it.

Hey man, nice build. You may want to consider shortening your thermal detonator a little.
You also might want to realign your drop boxes closer to the end of the belt. IMO.
-
Good looking build. Good luck!

89Batman, I appreciate your praise! I have also received the same by Locitus and alot of others. I just want the best armor I can achieve, and get as close to screen accurate
as possible. The requirements are set for that specific reason, ( screen accuracy). Like Locitus stated, the rivets are not an inside requirement, but an outside requirement.
It is for uniformity. He had good reason to ask to see the inside to prove that they were indeed split rivets. I have seen some troopers try to use other fasteners that resemble split rivets but they do not cut it! Yes I could have made them practical by actually using them. To be honest I did not add them until I applied for centurion status. I will happily continue to do what it takes to achieve
centurion status, and I recommend the same for every other trooper.

Thanks for the input. My forearms actually fit great. The padding is just so they don't turn on me when I pose for pics in different ways. My shoulder bells are free floating for manouver ability. I will make sure my forearms are. Ice and straight for the re post pics. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

nice work, congrats!

Xizor, do not take offense to any remarks you here. These ladies and gentlemen are just trying to help you have the best armor possible. I am sure the comment was not meant to offend, but to state that there are rules and requirements for a reason. The motto is " troopers helping troopers ". just stick with it and take their advise, it will only help you. Good luck!

Pipe is 1-1/4" and 18-1/4" to 18-1/2"
-
Sniper knee is fixed.
A little buffing in the trimmed area to bring back the gloss.
just waiting on the drop box inserts. hopefully they get here soon

Shin, yes. But a little bit further up the side. 1-2/8" or so.
Side of the chest, yes
Side of the back, no
Bottom of chest, yes
Bottom of back, yes
Side of ab and kidney, yes. Both sides. Just a little.
Locitus, here are the fixes I have done so far. I still have to trim the sniper knee and I am waiting on the drop box inserts to be shipped.
Also here are the pics of the split rivets.
All my edges were braught down to roughly 6mm.
I took a little off the side edges. I hope this is good.
I moved the clips over some.
These are 8mm head split rivets.
I got a set of rubber chemical gloves.
-
Awsome, thanks for working with me.

I just want to make sure we are on the same page.
