Great point Tim. We don't have to sacrifice our quality standards to encourage even more vitality in the EIB program.

So it seems. You are right, and I'm caught showing I haven't read that CRL close enough. Still makes me wonder if anything is sacred anymore.
The reason for asking that is because the MEPD was long ago created to rid the legion of plain stormtroopers tossing on a pauldron and claiming to be sandtroopers. Seeing FISD yank the rug from under their feet like this shames me to be part of it.
Anyways, Mike, best of luck with your build. All the information you need is here to be found. And apologies for the sombre mood.
I can understand where you are coming from Mathias. In one of my first troops I was put off that one of my garrison-mates was sporting a clean sandtrooper. I was grimacing inside my helmet as he stood next to my TD in photos. Then I discovered the Heavy Weapons Trooper and understood that he was pulling that off rather well. Now I love trooping with him as he looks great. As for nothing being sacred, Lucasfilm signed off on the HWT, so that will have to do. I'm proud of our HWTs. Carry on with your cleaner pack boys

I use Eastbay stuff, and the logos aren't a problem. Should your logos be visible, just color them in with a Sharpie or the like.

Congratulations Tim! Our first one was hours followed by a C-section. Your wife is going to be fine. Amazingly strong those women.

You could try taping it. Magnets are always useful. But yes, try trimming off the painted bits to attach and see if you have better luck.
-
That could be. Did you allow it to cure fully?

I wish you guys could see this in person. Clay's attention to detail combined with a cool costume and his size make it so that this thing takes names.

Hot glue works ok for me. I prefer to use some E6000 though.

There are easier kits to build with greater accuracy out of the box so to speak. That said, Someone here even worked a Rubies kit into EIB. FX can certainly be modified with butt-joining, reshaping the chest, etc. it really depends on how much of a challenge you are up for. If that is the option you can afford, or if you already have a kit, it can be done.

I wouldn't depend solely on Zap a Gap as it can become brittle and break apart. Also, should any repair or adjustment be needed later you are unable to separate the pieces safely and easily.

Looking splendid Soren. Well-done.

Do them all! Seriously, with your build RT-MOD would be good. I have a garrison-mate who wears his scout and makes all of us look ridiculous as he's so tall, so that's a fun option. The Royal Guard is great for your build as it would be most imposing with your stature, and the robes are custom made to fit.

If that was in fact the Supreme edition, I've seen folks do some amazing things with those

I like it.

Thank-you Ryan. I was able to troop this one at Emerald City Comicon recently. It was great fun, and the jetpack held up fine. I was worried about it due to the weight of the ManofWar pack. No worries anymore though.

Still loving this one!
and it loves you Scootch

Any further work on this?

Thanks guys!

Fire bad. Way to persevere.

I love the way you look at your parts and say "nah, that's not good enough." It really is resulting in one of the best builds I have ever seen.

If it makes you feel any better, I end up with glue-covered fingers with nearly every build. I wear gloves sometimes, particularly in building my astromech, but then I just glue parts of blue latex glove to my work.

Terrific start. Keep rocking.
