  1. Please accept my apologies, as I don't in any way mean to offend the purists or any of the armor makers, but:

My first project is to build a clean (hopefully 501st approved) set of tk armor, but I'm also interested in building death trooper armor after that.

So, my post is to inquire, without being a blatant wtb thread, is there any interest in selling damaged armor that could be used for death trooper kit? What could have been some bad cuts or trims could be spot on for a purposely damaged kit.

Just a thought and post to see if I'm not alone in thinking, "one person's mistake could be another's perfection!"...

  2. Probably a bit. The bicep/forearm area really gets decreased mobility once you put armor on. That and you get increased armor bite. Also, can you play guitar with gloves on?

I wouldn't say it's impossible. It just won't be easy and I wouldn't recommend jumping around all over the place either. Stormtroopers are like turtles. When they fall down they stay down.

Ha ha! Figured it probably wasn't a good idea... Although, I haven't received my armor yet (it's on order), I have already been asked to officate a Star Wars themed wedding in August in Dallas. That be the limit of my stage work in armor. :) I did a wedding two Halloweens ago as The Borg.

  3. Anti-procrastination Doopy Doos Hasbro Mod post...

    1) Started off breaking in my new dremel, hollowing the rail, removing the lower-left T-Track and then using the drill to create the new holes on the barrel. I may have drilled the new holes a bit low and my largest bit wasn't as big as the original holes, but I went ahead with it.

    2) Used the dremel to remove the orange tip bit.

    3) Scratched off all the unnecessary lettering stuff.

    4) Used a small hand saw to cut off the scope

    5) Started to use a screwdriver as others had done to remove back of scope, then said, "sod the lot of it" and drilled the daylights out of the back of it. Made it very easy to pop it off.

    6) Started gluing bits on. Always good having a surplus of rubber bands.

    7) Gluing more bits on.

    8) I used a Walgreens pill bottle end (used dremel to trim down) and the popular "roll of tape" bits for the inside of the scope.

    10) A regular sized straw will fit over the little LED bulb in the nozzle. I stuck this on here for paint.

  4. First post, so I thought I'd make it a good one. I'm eagerly researching armor, weapons and all the like. I've already ordered an E-11 blaster from SlaveFive and ordered the DoopyDoos kit for the Blaster I bought at Toys R Us last night.

Armor is next, but waiting till I make sure the bonus this year is good enough to cover. :)

I'm a career musician, with a day job as a trial/litigation support specialist during the day.

Last band recorded this, "Imperial Groove":

Definitely a fan of Halloween. I've put together most of my Borg costume (also a Star Trek fan), with the exception of the head bit.
