You can do the hot water bath trick. Make sure it's secured with tape/magnets to where you want it and dip it a few times in a pot of hot water, then rinse it in cool water for it to set.

Not familiar with other setups but the TK Talkie system allows you to customize mic gain among other settings. I put my helmet on, turn on the fans, and everything I normally use and adjust it on the fly while hooked up to my computer. V3 will ditch the computer for a bt based app.

I'm not sure but maybe some copper tape might eliminate the noise? Wrap the transmitter or receiver

Both line out and headphones have the same effect. It goes to a 3.5cable that is spliced into a JST cable that is spliced into cat5 and reversed on the other end.

I'm pretty sure they are stereo but I did put a jumper like your original tutorial showed how to from the start. I even added another one for lineout thinking maybe that was it. I reached out to ukswrath to see what he suggests first. Only thing I can think could possibly be it is a weak solder joint before or after the Cat5 to mono. It works fine when I bypass the harness and go straight from TKTalkie to the aux on the Pyle.

I finally caved into peer pressure and bought a Pyle 50w as my garrison mates say my hovi speakers aren't loud enough. I spliced up a mono cable and connected it to my mono line but I'm getting really low audio. When I hook my TKTalkie straight to the Pyle it's crazy loud even at half way. I'm thinking maybe I have a weak solder somewhere. Any suggestions before I go ripping a part my harness? I have tried plugging the mono line into both Mic and Aux port on the Pyle and the Aux is only a tiny bit louder.

I just picked up a Pyle 50w voice amp but now I am not getting anywhere near the volume when I hook it up to my harness compared to going straight to TKTalkie to Pyle. I guess I'll have to check all my solder joints because I'm using a mono line I have never used until now. I tried adjusting the line out settings but it didn't help. Only gets quiet when it's connected to my mono cable that's spliced into cat5 and back to a mono on the other end.

I have it on 12v side with a USB step down. Works great. I still need to find a solution for my SHA. I would rather install speakers inside the helmet than wear headphones.

I own ukswrath's SHA and I found it too cumbersome to wear headphones so I don't use it. I have 4 fans inside my helmet too. I just get use to getting really close to people if they are talking to me. I can usually hear well enough. Only issue is when at a con and there's tons of people all talking at once.

Just to start off with, I have my setup similar to ukswrath's Gen 4 electronic setup. I purchases my mount, hovi speakers, amp, and more from him. The wiring schematic can be found HERE
Originally I had power going from the 5v side as that is what the Teensy requires but quickly learned there's a lot of EM noise due to being on the same supply as the fans. The newer version of the power supply I have has 2 USB ports so it's possible the wiring can be modified to not need a 12v to 5v step down that I had to use. I used the Ailavi DC-DC Buck Converter 6V-24V 12V/24V To 5V 3A USB Output Module due to it's small size and the fact I would be able to use an inexpensive usb to micro usb cable. I'm easily able to hide it behind my bracket.
Here is the 12v and 5v dongle that connects to the Antigravity power supply. Notice the 12v is connected to a fuse. These are spliced into Cat5
Here's everything I am using inside my helmet. The hovi speakers are already mounted. I also have wiring for ukswrath's SHA but one of the mics broke and I can usually hear well enough that it's not really needed.

And now everything wired up. I run the Cat5 through my neck seal and have a pouch in my chest where the battery supply is stored.

Got everything working. The step down works great. I will post a video tomorrow with my setup. Getting "the look" from the wife now so better do family time now

Looks really cool, James! I was able to get my wiring all set up. Moved my wiring to go to the 12v supply in my harness and put in the step down. I see a red LED which indicates the step down is getting power. I got my Teensy and Audio board in the mail today and come to find out that in my rush, I ordered the one without the pins. So that will now be a spare and have ordered another one with pins.<br><br>
Once I have EVERYTHING, I will post a break down of how I have it wired to help any one that is looking to do the same setup as me.

Hey, Brent. I have another one coming in the mail in a few days as well as that step-down I wrote about. I'll let you know how it all goes and will do a detailed layout of how I have my electronics all wired up. You might want to add a bit about powering the teensy in your tutorial for people just discovering your system.

Definitely not as loud as the chest mount speakers but I didn't want anything besides my battery supply in my chest. I have never had a problem with someone hearing me before.

Yeah its EM noise. Since I can't de-solder worth a damn I have to replace both boards.
