  1. Hey Dave what's your avatar over at the museum?? I frequent it quite a bit! Kind of a "small world" moment
  2. wow I had no idea they were unique, but I see what you mean. Is that a common mistake? Is that something you think is worth fixing or most people won't notice? Thanks for the feedback!
  3. Then I added all of the stickers and the brow trim back on: brow looks a little crooked...so I might fix that. I also need help installing the lenses! BEST TIP I'VE READ: When placing decals, dip them in water with a few drops of dish soap mixed in. That lets you slide them around to place them and get the air bubbles out by rubbing it down with a paper towel. (I think that came from TrooperMaster) Thanks for looking. More build coming later
  4. Hey guys, I've started my first build and thought I'd share. I'll start by posting the helmet since I finished it already (except installing the lenses) Any feedback is welcome as it's my first build Started by painting the inside black, though it would look a little more polished: Then cut the eyes out. I noticed a lot of people seem to not cut the eyes out far enough so I just kept going until I thought they looked good. Kinda scary but totally worth it: Then the teeth: I apparently neglected to take pics of putting the two pieces together and putting the ears on...my bad! I then taped and painted the teeth and ears. BEGINNERS TIP: even using electrical tape on the teeth, the paint still bleeds, I had to go back through and clean it up by hand. I shoulda just painted it by hand because it really wasn't that bad. Should've listened to every else!
  5. Mines supposed to be here on Wednesday and I can't wait!!
  6. Thanks for posting! I'm waiting on my AP kit so I'll definitely be checking back in here to see your progress. That did you use for the helmet padding? That looks pretty cool!
  7. That's amazing! I only use Max for animating. I've only done a little modeling in there and it wasn't easy so mad props. I usually do solid modeling in solid works/inventor/proE etc. I'm actually working at Autodesk right now developing technical animation tutorials (robots, factories, etc.) Good stuff thanks for sharing!
  8. It's because the guy who painted it does pop art, so that's just the style : )
  9. Hey guys, this is my first thread so I thought I'd make it good. I have a friend who I commission a painting from once a year. I saw a picture of a TK and it just clicked "I have to get this painted!" Here's the finished painting. Notice what he did on the side with the 2011 anyways, thought you guys would appreciate it!
  10. I don't have any good ideas but I just thought I'd pop in and say hi. I'm an eagle scout and a vigil honor member from wiatava lodge in orange county Boy scouts made me who I am today Edit: I didn't think of anything specifically, but I did think of the three principles of the OA which are brotherhood, cheerfulness and service, if you can incorporate those somehow. Also, I'm not sure how familiar you are with the OA ceremonies, but I played the medicine man for 8 years and we always used to joke how he talked like yoda ( he says a lot of his lines backwards) so if you can somehow incorporate some aspect of the ceremonies that could be a real winner Pm me if you wanna talk about it
