You can buy the original un-altered DVDs now too... is that what you're talking about the color being 'off' on?
My friend still has the laser discs and a player... we've watched them on that a few times... though it's been at LEAST 10 years.

It's clear you took the time to really get this fitted to your body. Outstanding job - one of the better looking FX setups I've seen in a long time.
I agree... looks really good man!
-
Ahhhhh... that is SOOOO nice..... !!!

A gap between front and back is normal, it's covered by the ears.
Yes, a gap is normal... and the ears to cover it.
The only thing I'd suggest is make sure the front overlaps the back. That way the gap is only visible "behind the ears" from the back of the bucket and not the front.
-
I used screws on the ears but just hot glue on the dome... yep, that's all that's holding the dome on.

If i buy a armor kit, is it easy to assemble it?
It's easier to assemble it if you buy it rather than if you don't have any... then it's simply impossible.
Seriously, read the forums (like everyone else said) and then get in touch with your local Garrison / Squad through 501st.com, go meet them, and then I'm sure they'll be happy to help if you need it.
I doubt anyone is going to just say "yes" though... we don't know you well enough to answer.

Makes perfect sense. That's just how they come... you sort of have to "force it". You can see a picture of mine all taped up for gluing on this post on my website. (About the 11th picture from the end.) It took me 4 hands (in other words HELP) to get it to fit inside correctly... but once you get it and glue it it will stay put.

VERY COOL!
Thanks for the side-by-side pics... that is incredibly helpful to see how drastic the difference is between the modded and un-modded.
I'm hoping to have my bucket today or tomorrow... (fingers crossed).

The finish is not that glossy, I am a little disappointed, but I couldn't take it anymore with the spray paint. It was driving me mad. So I may turn it into a Sandtrooper.
Looks glossy enough to me!

Very nice indeed! Yeah, I hope mine comes out this good. I've been reading the MR threads enough that I sure know what I'm going to do that's for sure!
-
I was just wondering if anyone has used this Radio Shack Amp for their voice amplification..
That's what I use... and another guy that I know of here in my squad if not more.
I have mine mounted inside my chest... it works great!

Looks really good man! Congrats!

Weight is proportionate to height for armor. So how tall are you?
I'm 5'11" or so... right now I'm at 220lbs, but that's from 270... and I'm going down (hopefully) to 185 - 190 again.
-
What's the largest someone can be for the AP to fit?
I'm getting down there in weight, but I'm just such a "wide" dude I doubt I'll ever get in one.
-
I believe this link is rampant on here, but here's where I ordered mine from.

Oh,yes..the chin..what is need to fix at the teeth?
File them out larger is the main thing... if you think they need it.
Here's the best MR CE Overhaul thread out there... just FYI.
-
Welcome "back"!
-
Thats to simulate the "5th tooth" thats common on most screen used buckets. The hole isn't cut but the paint has a gap there.
Ah yes... I see it now!
Thanks!

So is this little "gap" in the frown canon, or just something you did?
-
Wow... that is a lot of fun! Very, very nicely done!!
When you get tired of that one and upgrade keep me in mind.
-
After
Was the helmet assembled when you trimmed the brow? Or did you just "set it up" to gauge the area and then trim it separated?
-
Man, that is looking GOOD man!
I can not wait to get mine and mod it!
Did you seal the sides of yours like Luis did his?
It looks like you did... but you didn't have pics of it in process so I thought I'd ask.
Also, any tips on taking the helmet apart completely?
I will really try and look at it to see if I can find out the best way when I'm doing mine.
Again, great job!!!
-
Wow, wow, wow!!!
I can't wait!!! This is looking so great man... fantastic!
-
I would guess it's more important to replace the lenses before the hovis, correct? Do the hovis NEED to be replaced... or can that wait until I have extra $20 to get Stomper's... and do his work with the MR?
(I'm going to be posting a lot of questions on here I think)

Hey Jen, welcome!
What part of Missouri are you in? I'm from Springfield, MO... and, in fact, will be there next week, with armor. I'm even going to do a little "troop" while I'm there for my cousin. PM me if you're near by and I will let you know more about it... I know you don't have armor yet, but I thought you might like to meet another TK.
Also, no matter where in MO you are, you need to mark out October 18th of this year to come to our Halloween party!
Hopefully by then you'll have your armor... if not your TK ID.
