Congratulations. I still remember when I got my number. Enjoy the feeling, now the trooping begins!
-
One word - snowtrooper. Makes a great second costume.
Probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Gets kinda chilly up here in winter.

Welcome, Calgary is a very active place. Lots of events. Good luck with your build!

From what I was told when I was researching armour ATA fits smaller troopers while AP tends to fit bigger troopers more easily. I'm a guy however I am quite thin and ATA fit me just fine with minimal trimming. I'm sure some ladies will chime in soon for you though.

Thanks, I had that tattoo in mind for quite some time. Just had to wait to get approved and get my TK number.
-
Oh I have the long underwear all set out to wear under the black suit. Thanks for the input. I'll give it a try then.
-
Just curious how the armour holds up to colder temperatures. Don't want anything to crack. Was going to take my daughter out trick or treating but I'll leave the armour at home if there is a chance it'll crack or the E6000 let's go. Anyone spend time outside in say minus 10 Celsius?

Nice armour. Good luck with your application.

Just for proof I ran downstairs, threw on the left boot, rolled up my pant leg, strapped on the left thigh and here's the way it usually looks from behind. Behold the power of the Blackberry Phone Camera. Hope it isn't too bad. I just want to show that the hole isn't visible.
-
Ah yes, I see the left Shin. These pictures were taken after returning from a Halloween party. That hole you can see at the bottom of the left shin was an attempt to use the hook method of closing. After that failure I switched to velcro. When properly closed that hole isn't visible. I can redo a picture of the left shin if required.
The thighs do come down more. Just had them up too high.
I'll await word about the holster to see if it'll effect the approval.
Thanks for the input!

I was under the impression that i was supposed to have that snap on the kidney plate. This is what i followed under the Centutrion gudelines: "A single male snap on the top right corner of the ab plate shall be present." I just put it there for the CRL as i do not need it to wear my kit or attach strapping. I thought i was going the extra mile, i'd be really dissapointed if that kept me from EIB. I'm not sure what to do about that, so i'll sit back and see what options ya'll have for me as far as that. Thanks Charles.
I think you may have answered your own question. A single male snap on the top right corner of the ab plate. Not kidney plate.
Nothing that can't be fixed. Good luck with your EIB application, I submitted mine today. Oh the suspense!

Welcome and good luck with your adventure!
P.S. I've been wondering about what kinds of stuff to wear UNDER the suit. Under armor? How about that funky neck piece? Gloves? The boot, I think, are going to be the real problem.
For the black suit I used a company called Eastbay, lots of people here use their compression top and bottoms. They work great
Gloves, mine are running room gloves, long as they are black with no logos showing, unless you plan on going for Centurion standards right away a nice pair of black gloves would be fine.
Lots of sellers are listed for the neck piece. Just use the search function and you'll find them.
Boots, get on the waiting list for a pair of TK boots at TKboots.com they have a rather long waiting list but they are worth it. I love mine.
Again, welcome!

I'm pretty self sufficient as well, usually just need some help with the belt. Aligning it with the velcro I have running around the back, and then attaching the O2 Canister. Other than that the rest I can get on and done up. That being said there are usually others around to help. Don't be afraid to ask.

I have 1 fan in my helmet. Keeps everything from fogging up and also gives some fresh air as it sucks air in through the mesh frown. Works really well.
-
Butt join looks better. Might be a little more work but it'll be worth it.
-
exactly what do you use the magnets for, I have heard of using them for some parts of armor and making binders of course.
I used them for holding pieces together while waiting for the glue to set. Especially places where clamps wouldn't work.
-
They are pretty powerful. I dropped one and it broke in 2 pieces, then those 2 pieces went shooting across the floor away from each other. And trying to separate 2 that have slammed together isn't fun. Oh yeah, one more thing. They pinch skin. Really good.
-
Ahhh. Copy that. Over....
-
Stairs are fun, have to take them one at a time and only use my right leg going up. Down I can use both. Might do some trimming to left leg to fix this in the future.
Can't see your feet. Almost tripped a fellow TK once with my stroller. Saw them coming and I couldn't get out of the way in time.
My first troop is in a few days so I might be back with more.

Sweet video. Always liked Weird Al.

The blaster is very nice, doopy kit really adds up to the old Hasbro!! The scope looks like a cast of a M-38, but not sure about the groove in the middle where it goes thinner. Could it be a cast of an M-38A2, and not filled in right?
Didn't cast anything. Just put the Doopys kit on and used the scotch tape roll method on the back of the scope. Still want to replace the back rail evenutally with a strip of metal. Figure it'll look even better then. Too bad I clipped a wire somewhere and now there is no pew pewing.

I had a lot of fun the one day I was able to attend. Really enjoyed the exhibit as well. Looking forward to more trooping in Edmonton.
