how about maybe using some plasticine and sticking it on the side of the helmet then take this shape that the plasticine made and try to reproduce it on the ears? i am sure a profiling gauge would do miracles...i ll have to try to find one...don't wanna mess those ears up! please keep those tips coming very interesting!

HI all, like most everyone i want to build an helmet but what scares me the most is the ears gap part..i know that there should be some gap but i was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to avoid getting too much gap between the ears and the helmet. I know that some kits seem to have some lines as guides to help you cut out but it looks like experience will help you way much more than guidelines in this case. can anyone share their tips on how they got their ears to work out the way they are supposed to be? cheers!

Hi all, I wonder if you can troop in canada with a e-11 blaster? I know it is a super silly question but we have really severe gun laws and i would like to know if some canadians troopers got in trouble by carrying their blasters around. Not a lot of people are up to speed on these things and seeing a guy dressed up in white is strange enough to some people imagine the rcmp seeing you with something that looks like a gun walking downtown or something..i am sure you would be asking for trouble.. anyone have any advice on this? i have a feeling that they may remove the handcuffs if they see it is a piece of plastic but you may get the cavity search and end up on the terror list if your blaster is a tad too authentic.... comments?

I am just like wow, i went back to look at VT's stuff on ebay and one week it was 125$ for his kit and now a few weeks later he is asking for 170$ for the same kit. Huge price hike, i was considering his kit at some point and i am getting a little discouraged because TE2 is not responding to my emails since he sent me his sales pamphlet. I am sure he has good reasons at the moment for not responding. But i wanted to buy soon since its tax season return here and i was jumping between the VT kit and the TE2 kit when i started doing my research. Now i get a price hike for VT which is recasted stuff with a frowned upon rep and i guess i have to wait for TE2. To be honest the price TE2 made to me for his helmet compared to VT, is real close and for the price difference the TE2 is more screen accurate. I guess i ll have to wait for Tony and he was my final choice anyways. oh well... i guess i just have bad timing...

I hope Tony is not mad at me, i wrote to him several times and got no answer so far. I guess he is just out or something. Does he usually do a batch and sell them off or will he take requests on the fly?

the stunt looks smaller...even if the camera was not at same distance it just seem to be more conical when going on up the faceplate compared to the TE and the VT hero i wrote to VT and he said he had no hero , no reasons why...which make me suspicious....

does the paint chip or crust after some time or does it stay nice?

Hi Mike, Tony got back to me and sent me the information i needed..now i just have to convince the GF to let me use the amount of money to get this done. Another question for you...would you go with the decals or paint? I have done a few models and painting and i think i could be good enough to get the job done but i was wondering what were your overall impressions when you were painting... do you think it was fairly easy or super hard...and why do you prefer Humbrol over revell or testors paint? thanks

I also wonder if the material used would make a difference in the final look, many if Vt would use HIPS or a somewhat thinner material as a test maybe it would make a sharper kit...just my 2 cents... cheers!

well seing the photos, i would say that the VT hero looks better than the stunt, the faceplate looks larger and normal, i have seen a recent offering of a VT helmet on Ebay and it must be the stunt version but seeing these photos now i think the VT hero looks like a closer match to the TE for proportion and size etc...the pull also seems to have a little more detail even though it looks softer. Does anyone know how much the TE2 kit went for? On ebay VT offers his kit for 125$ everything included which seems very reasonable. in all honesty and if Tony cannot get the full kit I would like to get the faceplate and cap of the TE2 since Mike TK-4510 is offering the rest in case you are stuck or need replacments. I will keep watching and see if the TE2 gets a new run and chatting with you good buddies here! i love the fact that some people went the extra mile for me and posted some photos. Hi all, I was contemplating a VT kit from ebay, looks great, got fairly good review from here but for some weird reason the helmet looks odd, especially in the eyes area.. i have set my heart on a TE2 kit because Mike has shown us that they can look almost like clones ( pardon the pun) of the real original helmets when assemble right and painted right. Now i know it is a rule to not really ask where to buy but seeing that there is a ton of threads on the TE2 helmet i thought it would be simplier for me to ask if anyone know a kit seller so i can see what it would cost me to get one and the source of the kit. please help thanks a bunch!
