I went through this whole thing in my blaster buildthread.
Because the doopydoo pipe is so thick, a piece of pipe inside will be much deeper in there than the actual molded bolt so it won't look like they belong together..

Welcome aboard

Thanks for the kind words you guys! I really appreciate it.
But I decided to bring back the weathering a bit. It's still very weathered, just not as much as first
Here's some pics, and I threw in comparison pics of the M38 that was on the blaster before.
And I have to say that I think the M19 looks a lot better
Mounted on the blaster:
Looking forward to troop with it for the premiere of The Phantom Menace tomorrow, (not that anyone is going to notice what scope i have )!
-
No, they're not required for Centurion.
Planning to go that route?
-
Whats with the "boom"-comments, dubVADER?
By the way great job on the conversion
-
Intriguing setup, will be interesting to see how it works out.
-
Wow, this has potential to be a super build!
Looking forward to following the progress.

I don't see any reason why not, it's the same as a model kit, so there shouldn't be any problems.
Go for it!

Painted and weathered the M19 scope I got from Jesse TK-4702.
Thinking I might have weathered it a bit too much and might redo it...
What do you think?

The AP-armor is known for not being the most easy to assemble with mismatched shins. But they can be made to look great, with a little effort.
They are also not the most accurate, that award goes to RS-props for being the first people that can provide a first generation cast from an original screen-used suit.
Personally I went with TM, and I'd do it again. The most accurate fansculpted armor, and TM himself is a really great guy that follows each person through their build and is always keen to help or answer any questions one might have, I consider him the utmost authority on ANH Stormtroopers, the man has MAD insight in what's accurate.
That being said, I have an AP helmet on order to build for a friend, and I'm looking forward to it!
If it's accuracy you're going for RS or TM is your best bet, after that it's AP or ATA with both being screen derived kits that are fairly available and look good.

I have a TM, and I absolutely love it!
Though the RS intrigues me as well, being a first generation cast of a screen-used suit.
I want both! :-D

I'd detach the faceplate from the cap'n'back and reposition it so that the cap sits lower on the faceplate and flush into it, as I've understood you have a gap between the facplate and brow as well?
Disassemble the helmet and use magnets and/or clamps to hold the cap'n'back and faceplate in place and adjust it until you are completely satisfied with the position, then mark off and drill new holes and fasten them together using nuts and bolts. There are a lot of great tutorials on here if you just spend some time looking around.
Pandatrooper did a tutorial of an ATA helmet assembly here:-----------
As it sits now the brow is almost higher than the most famous screen-used one, and that would be allright if you were replicating a specifically screen used helmet, but if I were you, I wouldn't settle for such a sloppy assembly. You can do better!

If you plan on doing it with a tiny brush, I'd say don't do it.
The amount of time you use won't be worth it, as the result won't be near as good as with spraying the paint on, but then you have to worry about masking off the eyes and teeth and everywhere else you don't want the paint to go. Let it be, is my tip.
-
Very nice!
I'd do the paint chips and weathering if I were you, makes it look even more realistic imho.
-
Nice build! And I relly like the look of the ESB E-11s without power cylinders or hengstler.
Makes me want to do a scratchbuild myself :-D

You could as an alternative fasten snaps using the correct style rivets to the belt, so that the holster could be detachable, I've done that on my belt and it's super practical.
-
Looking real good, you certainly have an eye for detail, and Centurion is the way to go!
-
They're not that expensive. Just browse around until you find some that look good and are at a good price.
-
I think the brow is low enough. I'm not a fan of the brow going flush over the eyes, like on the ROTJ-helmets, looks too "neanderthalian-lowbrow" for my taste.

Nope, EIB 200 is here http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=18409
Ah, my bad. This must be #201, then
Congratulations
-
Nice, I like the info.
This would be good to know for people wanting to display their armor, and might want to make the neccessary steps to keep it from degrading while on display.
Now I'd like to hear from people who have their armor on display and might have had for a while.
And what about the PVC that some of the new RS-suits are made of, I have a hunch that they are more durable and less prone to yellowing.
Will be interesting to find out.

Interesting...
This is the kind of feedback I was waiting for.
Thanks Mike!
Edit: And this doesn't have anything to do with me wanting to make a lamp out of a helmet for the bar I work at

Yippee! Nice to get a fellow Centurion in Norway :-P
Congratulations on a well built kit and kudos for having an excellent eye for details.
I also really like the fake strapping brackets, awesome idea.
They might even be built into the Centurion standards one day, who knows..?
