IMHO changing/upgrading/modding the thin green film lens to something that will not make ones eyes show, including adding mesh behind the frown is an absolute requirement, no matter what degree of accuracy one goes for.

Bumps are ugly IMO. Most ANH helmets have the eyes trimmed out pretty good. The bump as it's known is actually just flashing and is over exagerated on the AP. Trim it out big as Mark suggests and you'll have a nice looking helmet
I have to agree with you on that Paul..

What does ATA stand for?

Great news! This will definately revolutionize the way we troop!!!

Forum works all fine for me too..

It is a bit off-topic, but I am wondering, does you guys have any good tips regarding spray painting? I feel I never have control over the spray painting process, as it seems that I always leave some parts without the necessary coverage, making some parts non-glossy - kind of 'sandpaper' like.
I've tried to hold the spray can at least 30 cm above the painting area, and I always keep the can in motion to avoid drippings, but sometimes it still does not work that well :S

From what I know, the MRCE is the only helmet with the symmetrical appearance.

had no idea about the Titan Garrison...

Welcome to the FISD!

Where are those holes on the chest plate you are referring to, I can't find them :S

Never seen that before! Nice catch!
I just love that hero helmet!
Although the detention block background is photoshopped, it looks like something from the original detention block film set.
I wonder if there are more pictures of this promo trooper laying around somewhere in the LFL Archives.

I can't remember the first time- it may have been Hamleys (a large toy store in London) when David Prowse, in full Vader costume, made a public appearance. I remember being really shocked when he spoke and he didn't sound right!!! I also remember there being a set of armour on display in the Museum of the Moving image in London, sadly that is now closed and I have no idea what they would have done with the armour now, I do remember it had severely yellowed.
Interesting..which year was this - you think it was an original armor? I have yet to see an original ANH armor in person..no matter yellow or not, it's ANH armor!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Even Sung!! THose pictures were beautiful!!
I must ask you doing a favor for me, I have forgotten my password and everything over at your forum, and I wanna log in again. Could you use some secret moderator skills to get myself back in again?
I don't know if I should re-register, since I've already used my e-mail for the last register :S
I'll be in Beijing this summer, maybe we can gather some people and meet some day during this summer?
It would be really great to meet you guys all in person!

The first time I saw people in armor must have been during the premiere showing of episode III in Oslo, Norway. I saw the movie at the cinema called "Colosseum", which is the world's biggest THX certified cinema, it was a blast! Seeing live stormtroopers was indeed a big part of the experience!
I've soon met many of the troopers I saw that night after joining 501st

Hi there! Welcome to the FISD forum!
I suggest you take a look at starwarshelmets.com, remember that there are lots of different types of armors out there, and some research on this forum will sure give you some useful tips of how and where to begin.
Remember to take your height, body type and budget in account when considering getting armor.

A small correction regarding the link in the last post:
It's starwarshelmets.com , not starwarhelmets.com

Welcome, greetings from Norway (Nordic Garrison)!

Hey guys, ive read some of the threads on painting your own boots is this the best thing to do or should i buy the caboots?
Painting your own boots is the most screen accurate option, but the paint will most likely go off after the boots have been used a few times..so painted boots might require a few layers of fresh paint from time to time.
-
Soon we'll see troopers jumping and dancing around, doing never-before-acrobatics with those new thighs!
-
As a matter of fact, when watching through the shoot-out scenes in ANH I noticed muzzle flash from Chewie's rifle in the detention block also!
-
Here's a screen cap of the vinyl/latex-legged trooper from ESB
-
Here's a screen cap of the muzzle flash from the submachine gun used during the shot, plus two captions of the 9mm bullet casing ejected from the Sterling SMG/E-11 from the Stormtroopers in prone shooting stance.
-
amazing screen caps! Those stunt armors really looks beaten up!! I guess they threw them all in the garbage bin after shooting :S..unfortunately.

Mike...
Which Kevin?
Terrell...
What all makes the FX inaccurate? I don't have my kit yet, so I wouldn't even know where to begin. Can it be modded?
The FX helmet is based on a fan sculpted mold which is larger than the one used in the movies. What makes it unaccurate is the size and the overall shape of the helmet.
Check out www.starwarshelmets.com for the comparison pictures

Any chances of it being cast off the German MFX (Which if I remember correctly can be traced back to TE?)?
I have a german MFX in thick HIPS.

I think he did a great job on that suit. Someone gotta tell him to correct those mistakes though!
