  1. Agreed.

Or, since the white balance is digital-related, take the pictures with an analog camera, print them professionally without any processing,

have them scanned professionally, and then the results will always be skewed by everyone's different monitor settings.

All this apart, TM is a bit milkyer than AP, no doubt.

  2. Wouldn't all the armor except for TM be ROTJ derived? I was under the impression that all the suits that were available right (with obvious exceptions) now were cast from the suit that TE's cohort pulled from a trash can at Elstree Studios, which was a beaten up ROTJ suit.

I was thinking the same thing.

Plus I wouldn't say that TM is tricky to assemble, since the pieces line up perfectly, the only thing that might be "tricky" is the absence of trimming lines. AP is much more tricky since the pieces don't line up properly and some heavy tweaking is required for a perfect build.

  3. Nice build! You're doing a neat job!

    BTW I'm 1.74, so almost 5'9"

Things I did to improve the overall looks and make it fit my frame better:

    - trimmed an extra cm from the ab plate and kidney plate

    - heated and bent down the shoulder horns on both the back plate and chest plate, to force them to sit higher

    - I put a foam ring around the neck that sits over the shoulders and raises the whole armor by almost an inch

    - I put a piece of foam inside the top of the shoulder bells to make them sit higher too

    - I put extra padding inside the top of the helmet to make it sit higher too

The last three "cheats" really help!

I'd follow TM's advice to trim away the return edge from the front of the forearms, it's screen accurate and really helps mobility and comfort, I'm considering doing that too.

  4. I've thought of that as well. Need a reminder on what to melt the ABS with into the paste, though. I've got a box of scraps by now. I got pretty far on the rough trimming yesterday. :)

Acetone, strong one in big bottle, not the one for nails.

Cut the spare abs in very small pieces, put them in a glass jar and puor acetone until you sunk the pieces, let melt for a week, apply in layers and let them cure for some days each.
