Great job Mike! Your gear looks awesome. Good luck with your application for EI if you go that route! I'll be watching....

The Empire City Garrison attended the DK book signing event at the Barnes and Noble in Tribeca on Saturday, May 7th. In attendance were the DK Illustrators Chris Reiff, Chris Trevas, and actress Ashley Eckstein, voice of Ashoka Tano from the Clone Wars series. ECG attendees were Eric Seeman SL4619 as Darth Vader, John Hopper TK2557 as an Incinerator Trooper and Imperial Cadet AJ Hopper as a mini TK. We also had a member of the Rebel Legion (sorry, I forgot your name) as Padme.
It was a good turnout with a mix of enthusiastic parents as well as kids. Ashley was great and my son AJ was extremely nervous to meet her.
After about 2 hours with the public, Miss Eckstein was gracious enough to take some extra time to take some pictures with us, sign some very special autographs for Cadet AJ and spend some time talking with him. She even signed the inside of AJ's TK bucket!
Here are some pictures rom the day....

Thanks man. I popped the red mirrored ones in the night before just for fun. I still have the green ones that will go back in when I take final pics for EIB. I also have a spare set of white hand plates that I didn't get a chance to weather yet, so I wore the one white and one red combo.
Just got my white armor trim as well. A few more finishing touches and I should be good to go.

On Sunday, April 10th, 2011 the Empire City Garrison attended it's annual spring "Go the Distance Walk" for the Children's Hospital in Westchester County, NY.
This has become an ECG tradition and together with the Rebel Legion, as well as a few MEPD Deployed Police Officers, we are the hit of the event.
This year, we were able to get an area big enough to set up our new "Tatooine Wall" complete with sliding door, blinking lights, a Jawa and droid parts.
MEPD Deployed Officers Lou Platania, aka "Darth Voorhees" and David Braun, aka "Dave3022" as well as myself were on hand. I was very anxious to get my first troop in with my new Incinerator Trooper Armor, so my Sandie stayed home. Our own Chris Feehan, aka "Curemode" was also on hand with his amazing Hero TK suit. See the Head Shot pic!
We held a "Shoot the Trooper" contest with a Clone Wars nerf gun for the kids and raised some extra money for the hospital.

All weathering has been completed! I am very happy with how it came out.
I will be posting new pictures soon.

The easiest way to mount your shoulder pouch is attaching it to your pack strap.
I will send you a picture or two of how I did mine.

Looks great! I hope to start on mine this weekend. I hope you don't mind if I use some pics of all your flamethrower builds for ideas and reference. If you don't mind me asking, what do you use as the "tube"? What I saw at Lowe's was some pretty thick PVC, and it has me worried about weight.
Thanks
I am pretty sure Mason used a 4" THIN walled pvc tube. You don't want the regular PVC as it is too thick and heavy.
Ask someone for the thin walled stuff. You may have to buy a 10 or 12 ft section though.

I'm not just shooting for "good enough". I want my gear to be EIB and eventually Centurion level.
I have a big troop coming up next weekend, so the later two are not going to be attainable on short notice, but I fully intend to pursue them.

SICK!
Awesome job Mason!

Worked on weathering some of the armor. Should have the rest finished up in a day or two.
Lowered the vertical stripe on the chest by about 2 inches. I'm not doing anything to the bottom edge just yet as I still have to trim off the return edge and install the ROTJ style white trim.

Dude that looks fantastic! Logan loves the pictures, it's one of his favorite action figures hahaha
Thanks Terry! I will be sure to wear this armor to the FAAN Troop this year just for Logan! I will also bring my little HWT (AJ) so he and Logan can troop together.

Started weathering the bucket and armor.
The bucket is done. Added some chipped/worn areas in the red markings. Also did a little charcoal colored acrylic wash on the entire bucket and wiped it off. I don't want to go too heavy on the weathering, just enough to give it a worn look.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.
Almost done now. Installed the mortar tube and finished the detail work on the radio. All the knobs and dials work/turn on the radio to give it a bit more realism. The radio also doubles as a lockable storage compartment with paddding. There is a second small storage area in the top tube. The cap screws off for a bit more storage.
Just have to mount some shoulder straps and this one will be ready to ship to it's new owner.

Just wanted to share some pics from the workbench of another HWT Pack.
This one is V4 and I really tried to get it as accurate to the game screen caaps as possible.
The radio is really the only thing that will be slightly different, as the new owner wanted my famous "LED" speaker ring installed as well as a removable antenna.
Still have to finish up the detail on the radio, mount the Mortar tube and sshoulder straps.
I will post more pics when it's completed.

I will have all items fixed as well as the entire suit weathered no later than this coming weekend.
Trying to finish up a pack build and some parts for a few Sandtroopers, so I am a few days behind at the moment. I will post some new pics soon.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys!

Well, I finally got a chance to strap on my armor for a quick test fit and some pics. Of course the batteries in my cmaera died after the 1st few shots, so the rest were taken with my Blackberry and the resolution isn't the greatest.
Still haven't weathered the suit yet. Also plan on redoing my shoulder straps, adding the white trim ROTJ style and anything else called for in the CRL's so I can eventually submit for EI. I think I have enough to get 501st approval. Just wanted to share a few shots of the 1st suit up.

Here is a few more progress pics.
Helmet interior and Pauldron Mod are completed.
I installed 2 small squirrel cage style fans in the lower front of the helmet. They run on 9v batts each with the on/off switches mounted in a small projecct bow witch is velcroed into the rear of the bucket. Plenty of freash air.
Also mounted my Memorex wireless transmitter and mic into the helmet as well.
Pauldron mod completed to have it angle and curve slightly down over my shoulder as per the game screen caps.

Looks great Michael. Keep up the good work.
I hope to have my INC done by this weekend.

Looks great Sean. You look like an action figure!
Really great job.

wow! that looks great! i really like the added details
Thanks Mason. I didn't do much. I drilled a hole in the top of the housing and inserted a stainlesss steel mounting screw to help hold the assembly together during trooping. Easily unscrews to break the canon down. Other than that, just did some silver dry rubbing on the flat black paint job to give it a more worn metallic look. Really happy with how it has turned out.
You really did a fantastic job on this. Thanks again!

Wanted to share my newest weapon for my newest Armor build.
This is an Incinerator Trooper Plasma Canon / Flamethrower.
It is a custom build by the FISD's very own Dashrazor.
This is V3 or Version 3 of his builds. I had it sent to me with just a base coat of paint and I did the final painting and weathering myself, as well as added a few more details.
The main body and stock is an Airsoft rifle, which looks almost identical to the screen used weapon.
The forward section is made of thin walled PVC, wood and metal.
It also contains a working plasma generator in the barrel that lights up when fired. A small control pad has 10 different sound effects to choose from and the speaker is housed inside the Flame accelerant tube (blue tube).
The whole thing weights about 4 lbs and breaks down into 4 sections for easy storage and transport.
This thing is AWESOME!!!!! Can't wait to troop with this.
Thanks Mason for this amazing prop!!!

I also used the green tape for painting all of my armor. The green tape I used is called "Frog Tape" and I found it in the paint isle at my local Home Depot. It is a bit more expensive than the standard blue painters tape, but well worth it. It is supposed to prevent paint bleed, and it definetely does. I had great results using it. I used the blue tape for overspray only.
