  1. Pandas skills have made him a bit of a celeb now.. I saw your T-21 vid twice on facebook thiseve.....least I can say I saw it here first....
  2. I am one of the unfortunate people that bought a set of his armor; prior to finding my local garrison or the FISD.. So I hold a grudge and will find it impossible to say anything nice..
  3. Sadly someone will actually pay for that.....
  4. I was supposed to have gone to this as a member of the RL, however, I havent gotten to send my pics in for my approval yet.. Looks like I missed another fine event...Hopefully I should be able to make it next year and I will be in a much better off showing in armor instead of a robe...
  5. I liked the door liner as they looked the part, but if the originals were realy old plastic drawer t-track I wanted to come close to that.. I liked the rake I thought that they were perfect aside from the fact that one end was higher than the other... the screen holder was easy to work with but it was at an angle... I guess they all have their own little quirks... and more of a personal preference...
  6. I know that there have been other alternatives for the T-track posted up here, I have actually purchased the leaf rake, the garage door trim, and screen holder... I was wanting something more solid so I continued searching. I was getting a storage building near my new house and stopped by the Hobby shop in the area just thinking there might be something I could stumble across that might work.. Well this is what I came up with. This initial try is a little rough as I was just trying to get it knocked out to see how close it would work.... Im pretty happy with it, aside from Im really going to have to work on the heating the ends to get em right... But here are some pics open looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say...

I purchased from this guy a longgggg time ago.. so I have that same set of armor same as you... I didnt find the FISD until after the fact.. I have recently boxed that set up and purchased a set from one of the armor suppliers you can find on here...
  8. Not sure.. I have it saved in my favs somewhere.. what type of amp did you use?
  9. I just saw a post on here about using 1" speakers from radio shack.. with some pvc caps...(of course that was with hollow aerators, mine are solid.. but stil would be coming out of the right area... now all i need do is figure out how to do wireup on em..
  10. I am in the process of making my "Wireless Wally." I was wondering has anyone done the aerator/speaker set up on a smaller budget? I know that there are the 2 options I see everyone talking about here all the time; the ROMFX and well cant remember the other right now.. But as much as I would prefer my audio coming out of the aerator instead of my chest, thats a little on the pricer side for tastes.. I think I have about 30 bucks wrapped up in the "WW" which is both cheap and from the way it seems, at least somewhat effective..
  11. Yeah.. when I decided to buy, it was going to be one that required no painting..well at least no massive painting.. buttons I can deal with... the climate control was actually referring to being able to work in the new garage and have heat if needed where my work shop now, I justhave a small ceramic heater.. that only keeps about a 1 square foot section of you warm if you actually are sitting on it.. I usually like the cold I wear shorts unless its below 20*, just not a big fan of it when Im trying to do detailed work and cant feel my fingers....
  12. Thought I would get an early start here... I finally came to my senses and purchased a nice set of armor the other night. (Still wishing I would have done that as soon as I found this place and my garrison..I would probably be in the 501st by now.) Anyways, I have a new big brown box full of brand spanking new AM in it, on its way. I have put a I dont know how many hours into my old set, and with bad weather just around the corner I knew how much trouble I would have getting the proper weather conditions combined with time to paint and finish my old set. Not to mention I wasnt sure that I would have ever been able to make it EIB, so I opted to get a set that I know will both be a little easier for my first build and be nice and shiny as I want it to be. I will at some point go back to the old set and more than likely make it a sandtrooper...(Yet one more excuse to use padatroopers awesome T-21 tutorial. I hopefully will be closing on my new house in the next several weeks, which has had me slowed down to begin with as my current work shop is being used for extra storage, however, the new place will afford me a much larger and climate controlled work area.
  13. Thats how I have been doing mine. I agree the inside strip makes the entire structure much more sturdy.. I never thought to use the scrap for the inner strip I have just cut those out of the home depot/lowes for sale signs.. they are just flexible enough to conform to the shape.. I guess I didnt really think that you could make the fronts flush, it would just throw the backside off a bit, and thats not as important/visible as the front anyways, especially if you are having to shim to start with.. I was focused on trying to keep it flush all the way around, but I guess that would really be impossible with those other styles of armor...
  14. I was working on my front thigh. I am doing the butt & strip, and I noticed that one side was just a tad bit higher than the other, I was able to get it flushwith the strip. I have pseudo TE, however, this got me to thinking how has this been fixed with the other styles of armor like the FX for example. I know the halfs of all the parts are designed to slide over each other. That would mean if you try to butt it your goign to have a higher and a lower side after the cut right? I plan on purchasing another set of armor as soon as I get this set done, and figure this will be something I end up having to deal with depending on what make I end up going with. I thought it would be a good question to ask may make me think about one maker over the other....
  15. I figured that it was more of an option as I didnt see anything in the requirments for it. I am one of those that prefers the what would the armor look like if it were real and functional. Sort of like the flexible hand guards vs. the hard plastic ones. Thanks again for putting my curiosity to rest.
  16. Guess it really all depends on your point of view as to if it really is silly. I had discussed a while back about the type of black paint used on the interior of the bucket, however, I neglected to ask what the reasoning behind that is???? Temperature control, block possible shadows of your nugget through a really thin helmet, its just cooler looking, etc? I was looking at pics while trying to work out things for a mic system and saw several pics of buckets sans the noir interior...
  17. I have found that no matter what I am looking for, be it the next star wars prop item, or something Im actually working on around the house; I get the same exact blank look.... they really dont get the misc. pile of sink parts etc. for building a light saber...
  18. I feel your pain.. I still have yet to attempt my helmet from him...every time I start to work on another piece of my armor, I think wow i could have avoided this pain, had I just found the FISD 2 weeks earlier... well you know what they say hind sight its always 20/20...... but the one good thing.. provided I can get this one up to snuff... im thinking.. its going to make my next build a breeze..
  19. Actually hit the depot today... picked up both types, ill try em on and see which ones i like best. grabbed those then walked around the store for an hour; giving up some Saturday Mountaineer Football time, convinced that today might be the day that I stumble across another inexpensive t-track substitute.....ill save that for another post.. (currently working on one, just want to get a trial run in and see how it goes, before I set myself up for possible public humilation)
  20. I actually just found those a little while ago.. I started looking for something aside from just rubber gloves, searched for neoprene and what do you know.. there they were... I starting to wonder if I was going to have to spray plasti-dip on a pair of orange ones from wal-mart....
  21. Im sure they will get used for something.... one good thing about shopping at that place.. everything is so cheap... its all disposable... even the tools...
  22. First thing.. I hope this is in the correct forum... I was at one of the local, well I call it the Dollar Tree of Tool stores -Harbor Frieght.. and I was walking down the glove aisle when I saw black rubber gloves for 5 bucks.. figured hey I will need those if im going to shoot for EIB.. and at a great price...I opened them up after getting home.... and well I dont think they are going to cut it.. Thought that I would post a couple of pics here just to verify.. --------
  23. Glad I was able to help and good to hear that they arrived... hope you didnt lose an eye when you opened that box....
