  1. You mean the one on the cap'n'back? It will be covered by the rubber
  2. If i paint them bigger it would start going up the edge of the tear/trap. I hope it doesn't matter how many lines there are in the tears/traps have.
  3. And as promised here comes some pictures! Probably one more black layer tomorrow!
  4. So the ones i got with the kit won't do it? Too bad Then I'll add it to the shopping cart of TK4510. Need a neckseal and S-shaped rubber for the helmet anyways EDIT: Now i changed my mind, I'll go with painting the tubestripes, found Arnold "sixxgun13"s' tutorial on how to paint tubestripes.
  5. To gain centurion status, do you have to handpaint the tubestripes?
  6. Has anyone ever managed to break their Lexan Scissor whilst cutting in plastic? I just did I managed though to cut out everything so I'm done with the cutting, but still. The scissor just broke, weird! Pictures coming soon!
  7. Ok, so i shouldn't have to heat bend any of the parts? I will glue the shoulder bridges to the front and then i would use some thin elastic to hold them down to the back, that would be pretty accurate?
  8. Ok nice! Good luck with the rest of the build Looking forward to see the finished set!
  9. It's the plastic belt, the shoulder straps and the thigh boxes, i heard that they had a tendency to snap of, but that might just have been extreme cases with bad pulls or something. I just want to be on the safe side.
  10. The AP kit was a really fun kit to build, working on it right now! You got your helmet looking really good! Have you ordered mics from Keith or are you going with other alternatives?
  11. Now the second layer of paint is on. Looks much better now! I think I'm ready to start painting all the black things on the helmet now. Is it enough to use a hairdryer when bending plastic? Because i don't own a heat gun. Pictures of second layer of paint, all around the helmet.
  12. Ok, thanks! I'll go with that From pictures I've seen i think snap+elastic is easier than the accurate ANH strapping.
  13. One quick question, is any strapping system allowed for centurion?
  14. Yeah, i thought so too. Of course i will paint the whole area when i do it As of right now, my fingers are hurting quite much after all cutting and snapping etc. but all i got left to cut out now is a calf, a forearm, a bicep, a thigh, the sniper plate, shoulder straps, the buttons for the ab plate and the belt and last but not least the thigh pouch. I will probably do it tonight, if my fingers have settled down by then
  15. Now the paint is dry and it looks good! I might have to paint a second time because at some places you can spot a little white through the gray. But the ears came out perfectly! And don't mind the little drips on the front top traps, the rubber goes over it so it is invisible Now to pictures! Tell me if i should get better pictures without flash!
  16. I decided to do it freehand, painted all the things that where supposed to be gray on the helmet. Pictures of it comes up tomorrow when the paint is dry
  17. Thinner wont eat the plastic right? If so i think I'm confident enough to do it free hand! But I'll keep the tape that is under the frown so i don't manage to drip paint on anything else
  18. I got some paintbrushes today and I'm ready to paint the frown. But I'm unsure if i masked off a good part of the frown. I wont start painting until I've got a recommendation on what to do Better safe than sorry!
  19. I got it sorted out, i just placed wrong screws at the wrong place Ears are on the helmet now and the only things that i need now is S-neck rubber and new hovi mics from Keith. Painting will be done as soon as i get some paintbrushes
  20. How does it look? I think i should trim some more around the eyes, or is it ok? I'm having a hard time getting the screw from the ears into the helmet so i can fasten it. It's like the screws are too short.
  21. Gonna try that, i did it on some parts, ill try it there. Atleast I'll try to score it.
  22. I'm using the lexan scissor but I'm having a hard time to cut it since there is no room for the scissor nor my hand
  23. Thanks! I'm done for the day. 6 hours straight of cutting and my fingers are a little tired. Going to complete the cutting tomorrow (I hope) This is really fun, but the first problem I've bumped into is, how do i separate the butt and the kidney plate the easiest way?
