So to meet the requirement, does it have to be an actual hengstler counter or will a resin copy suffice? Side note: Justin has his TK number displayed on his counter-very cool thinking. What was the hengstler counter supposed to count? Was it supposed to be an ammo readout or a range finder for the scope?

Hey Smitty, keep in mind that THIS "money pit" brings a LOT of joy and happiness to others, so think of it as an investment in altruism!
Welcome to the FISD, bro!
Yeah I hope to one day become a member of the 501st and do some charity troops. But until then, women love a man in uniform

you know what would make your bike even more starwars if you wanted to and have the money. get custom rims made from the immperal cog symbol.
That would be extraordinarily pimp, if you ask me.

I'm a noob myself. After doing tons of the same research that apparently you have done, I decided to go with the TE2 helmet. Some one mentioned the 4 helmet line up.
Here it is:
-------------
I have read that article 50 times I bet in the last month. Its a little biased towards the AA/SDS helmets but has pictures of all. The TE is somewhat similar to the Gino pictured in the article from what I understand basically from all the riffraff Ive seen between those two guys in forum posts let me tell you bud theres bad blood there. Personally I could care less which of the two came first, because they are both superfantastic looking helmets and I would/will be proud to own either one. The TE2 will require some TLC if you want a pristine right off the assembly line looking TK helmet but IMO I think its gonna be worth it. It's pedigreed and traced all the way back to 2 helmets from the films and it doesnt get any more accurate than that. My helmet will be in my hands in less than a month and I'm gonna document the whole construction project as I go along. If you get one too it could be like a joint effort. As somebody mentioned earlier about the friendliness and supportiveness of the FISD, I couldn't agree more which is the whole reason I picked this forum. Thanks again FISD!

Welcome to the FISD!!!!
Greetings froms Bolivia South America!!!

I wish that was my ride, unfortunately it fits better on my computer desk than it does in my garage.

I ordered mine from the website the other day. I didnt make the list for the first batch but Im on the list for the second batch. That may or may not be before Christmas. I'm just happy that I am officially on the list to get one...oneday. You know, I bet you could feed the output of this box into the input of one of those cheap radioshack amps and get A) an adjustable level of voice distortion and louder output. or C) a fried cheap radio shack amp. I'm willing to try it. I'm prolly gonna have to remove the boards from the boxes to fit everything inside my TE2 when I finish it....something else I can live with.

sweet model Smitty. Welcome to the FISD!!! Feel free to surf the boards for most of your armor questions. Is that you with the paint ball gun?
Yeah me and my wife were into tournament style paintball when we lived in Virginia Beach. Now that I have moved back to Alabama I have no place to play anymore so Im dumping that money pit of a hobby for a new money pit hobby . I sold my tournament gun and dropped $85 for a TCI (I'm on the waiting list for his next run) Right now I have another paintball gun up for grabs on paintballforum.com. All proceeds of course will be spent on white plastic. The gun in the picture is the one I have up right now as a matter of fact. Its a modified 98 Custom RT with a flatline barrel. It sprays about 15 balls per second and has near twice the range of regular paintball guns. Got it outfitted with a 42mm reticle sight glass. I figure if youre gonna do it, do it right At one point I was like man what if you cut an FX helmet to recieve paintball goggles out of a PBmask and modify a Tippmann 98 into an E-11, how cool would that be! Plus in body armor the paintballs wouldnt hurt as bad. Can we say Tantive 4 raid re-enactment raised to the power of total coolness!

You can bet on that. I have a good camera and a decent video camera so whatever I do will be well documented. Cameras I have found are essential when it comes to hobbies

Hey guys!
I signed up like 3 days ago and was wondering why I hadnt got my confirmation letter when just today I was like OMG it was intercepted by the spam filter. So I looked and there it was so I'm here now. Tell Lord Vader he can start his landing. So Ive been researching white plastic for months now and have finally started spending money. I'm starting out with a TE2 bucket when thats finished I should have enuff saved up to get FX lite for the body. I'm an ex navy nuke and wouldnt be surprised to find a couple more navy nukes on this site. I've been playing guitar for 18 years (man that makes me sound old) and I'm a musclecar grease monkey. So hopefully my skills will help a trooper out in return for advice for white plastic. I have built numerous model cars and aircraft over the years which I'm hoping will be a plus when it comes to armor.
Heres a 67 Impala I put together about 9 years ago.

Good lord! I pay $300 a month for a 4 bedroom 1.5 bath carport and fenced in yard, and my friend just got a doublewide mobile home sitting on 3.5 acres for $20K. Im so glad I dont live anywhere else. The numbers you guys are throwing out there are just scary.
Random Question: When vac-forming ABS is the raw plastic slick and shiney on both sides or does the side that touches the mold have a texture? All I can find are slightly textured on one side.
