TK9612[501st] Posted July 9 Report Posted July 9 (edited) After coming across a used TK, and not a lot of second guessing- I've decided the best deal is to turn it into a (original) Death Trooper! I know its gonna a some work. However, it'll be a fun project. And looking over some of completed costumes, I'have a lot of questions. Forgive me if they've been covered already. Mostly, is there such a thing as "too much" when it comes to zombifying the armor. Such as damage and paint schemes? I read the blood effect isn't allowed for approval? Second, can anyone help explain how the blast marks and scorch marks are made on the armor? Your input is appreciated! Edited July 9 by TK9612 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 10 Report Posted July 10 There are some great videos on blast marks Yes you can have blood but it has to be dried, not liquid Armor may have some stains to emulate aged dry blood. Liquid / permanently wet fake blood is not accurate. Here's my L3 Centurion approved for an example. Check out some other builds and also the gallery sections, no two are the same https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/187-death-trooper-build-threads/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/category/17-zombie-trooper-reference/ 1 Quote

TK9612[501st] Posted Sunday at 10:13 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 10:13 PM (edited) A little progress. I think I went a little heavy on one of the shoulder bells simply because I didn't find the process! Any pointers/suggestions? The more zombie damage and some blood to be added ASAP. gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted Sunday at 10:22 PM Report Posted Sunday at 10:22 PM Looking good, you could damage areas if you wished to, cuts and breaks just adds to the aged look. Adding extra weathering to recesses can also give an aged appearance. Quote

TK9612[501st] Posted Monday at 11:39 AM Author Report Posted Monday at 11:39 AM @gmrhodes13 Reading over the CRLs for the Death Trooper. It says Armor may have some stains to emulate aged dry blood. This may be taking it too far on the blood! 😆 note: this is not my helmet but it's inspiring! Quote

Looks fine to me BUT with every costume your GML is the one who will approve/reject the costume so doesn't hurt to check with them Quote

TK9612[501st] Posted yesterday at 08:12 PM Author Report Posted yesterday at 08:12 PM (edited) Little bit more productive progress today. Pre damage and painting: sanded and then blotched the ab and back plate with graphitepowder. Turned out better than expected. Edited yesterday at 08:14 PM by TK9612 Quote
TK9612[501st] Posted yesterday at 08:18 PM Author Report Posted yesterday at 08:18 PM Front ab plate. Good thing about the powder is, it'll show you where scratches are located. 1 Quote
