mortifactor
Hey guys Recently took a can of rustoleum to my RS helmet kit, it went pretty well but it was my first time using enamel spray and my set up was quite limited space wise. This meant I couldn't lay down the paint as nicely as I'd have liked, and I have a small portion of orange peel on one part and another part with not enough paint on. If I wait around a week or so, maybe 2, is it safe to respray over the patch I missed with more rustoleum? Will it blend flawlessly? For the orange peel - Can I sand and polish this away? or sand and respray over when I touch up the patch? I want it to match the finish of the rest of the helmet. Cheers guys, can add a few pics later if requested (away from camera now) Edited May 13, 2016 by mortifactor
Addertime[TK]
I thought orange peel was screen accurate... Enamel is tricky stuff. It will not blend flawlessly as it doesn't melt the layer below once cured. This makes it hard to to spot touch ups since you can't really feather the edges. As you have a light area to cover also, gently sand the orange peel until it's no longer obvious and evenly respray the whole area.
