CreamPye
Hey all, Since buying my AP kit many years ago (10, actually), it’s finally time for me to get cracking… "Why has it taken him so long to do anything on this?", you might ask… A perfectly valid question. To be honest, I’m pretty OCD and a major perfectionist (which is a blessing as well as a curse). This, combined with my hectic workload, has left me little time to focus on preparing properly for the task ahead and getting things started off ‘right’. Needless to say (I guess), I’ll be shooting for EI / Centurion Level from the start. I’m still in the process of gathering everything together, but I may as well start this thread with a run-through of everything I’ve bought and plan to buy beforehand, so I can benefit from your combined experience, advice and guidance straight away. Thanks, C If there's anything missing, any recommended alternatives, or anything below I just shouldn't need, please let me know. Here goes… Armour & Accessories: · Full AP Armour Kit - I know I’ll have to do some work on the eye ‘bump’, ears and teeth · Matching ABS Sheets for Cover Strips · Dark Smoke Bubble Lenses · Screen-accurate Aluminium Hovi-Mix Pa2.s · S-type Neck Trim - TBC · Neckseal & Bib - Ordered from 'Veedox' · Canvas Belt - TBC · ANH Grappling Hook & ComLink - 'EVO3' doesn't currently have any available, but I'm on his waiting list. Any suggestions / alternatives? · Inner Drop Boxes - TBC (I’ve messaged 'kwdesigns', but no response. Any suggestions / alternatives?) · Rubber Gloves w/ White Latex / Silicone Guards - TBC · Screen-accurate Bracket / Strapping System (elastic Loops, nuts, screws, short & tall brackets) · Receka 1-piece Undersuit · Phoenix Props ANH E-11 Blaster · E-11 Scope & Hengstler Counter Decals · Holster · White Chelsea Boots - TBC (any recommendations, please?) Tools & Materials: · Metal Ruler · ‘Striker’ Flat Construction Pencil (for accurate marking) · Dolphin Knife (for super-accurate trimming) - I’m going with the ‘score & snap’ method · Exacto Knife & Extra Blades · Cut Resistant Gloves · Lexan Scissors (curved & straight) · Dremel with Drill & Sanding Drum Attachments · 3M Sandblaster Pro Flexible 220 Grit Sanding Sheets - TBC · 180 Grit Sponge Sanding Block - TBC · Heat Gun (for reshaping Eye Bump & Teeth etc.) - TBC · Large & Small Metal Files - TBC · Heat Sealing Iron (for return edges) - TBC · Blue Masking Tape · Clamps · Rare Earth Magnets · E-6000 Glue · Screen-accurate Rivet Set (5/16th heads) · Rivet Gun - TBC · Snaps (Line 24 with 5/16th posts) - TBC · Snap Setting Tools - TBC · White ABS Tabs for Snaps - TBC · Black Elastic (1” wide) · White Elastic (1/4” wide, 1” wide & 2” wide) · Black Nylon Strapping (1” wide & 2” wide) - TBC · Velcro (2” wide black & 1” wide white) - TBC · Soldering Iron - TBC · Trooperbay Helmet Masking Templates · Paint Brushes - TBC · Paint - TBC · Helmet Ear Pinstripe Tape · Helmet Fastener Kit (screws, rivets, washers, nuts) · Black Mesh (for frown) · Novus 3-stage Plastic Polish Edited February 8, 2016 by CreamPye
xanthis02
Not a good idea using a 1 piece undersuit you need to consider restroom breaks get top and bottom compression gear any hard wear store will sell gloves get the ones with a diamond pattern ( usually 5 dollars or less ) Trooperbay is only one for now selling rubber hand plates and other trooper supplies. This is where you can get sound system for inside your helmet instead of aker and wires it's much cleaner and he has a link for a hearing system to hear outside your helmet http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31436-fs-ukswraths-hovi-mic-tips-with-speakers-crl-accurate-tips/ Here is a good link for fans http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24372-fs-helmet-fan-system-echos/ Paint:Gloss black: Humbrol # 21 Testors # 1747Gray: Humbrol # 5 Testors # 1138French Blue Humbrol # 14 Testors # 2715 For your tools and materials there is wal-mart hard wear stores hobby/craft stores I bought a hammer snap tool set on ebay cheap instead snap pliers hammer style is much better than the pliers Edited February 6, 2016 by xanthis02

Much appreciated! I'll have to look into adding another strategically-placed zip to my current undersuit, as I already have it now. I did have a feeling that TrooperBay was my best bet for a lot of the remaining bits I need... I'll have a look at those sound, hearing and fan systems too... They look top-notch!!
