Calves

Recommended Posts

I am approximately 80% finished with the assembly. I don't consider it 100% unless is deployable.

I did a test wear for mobility. I know I need to trim the biceps (lots of pinching with the forearms). Other than that, the upper torso is looking good, feeling good.

My main issue is with the left calf. The plate it flat against my knee cap. Without the thigh on, I can move. Add the thigh piece and I look like a stormtrooper that needs a bathroom.

The calves themselves fit perfectly. I didn't need to shim. I am able to close them both and the armor is like a second skin (love that!).

My question:

If you've had this problem (the plate to knee issue), how to you solve it?

I'm thinking I'll just take a 1/4" off the bottom, test fit, repeat until it feels good or the plate is down at my ankle :P

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my knee plate. I just applied a little heat with a heat gun and with even pressure angled the knee plate into a better more accommodating angle clear of my knee cap. I didn't have to move it to far. Your description also leads me to believe that your thighs might sit too low cause the plate should be right at your knee cap
