I apologize if this is a silly question. I'm slowly buying things I need until my ATA kit arrives at the end of the year. I'm not mechanically inclined, but would like to buy electronics to put in the bucket. I love new challenges.

I was wondering what the purpose of the MP3 player? I mean i know they play music, but is that all its being used for? I'm planning on buying the ROM/FX for voice conversion, but wasn't sure if I should buy the set up for the MP3 player as well.

Thanks!

Christina,

The 501st website has several audio loops for the different kinds of troopers - TK, sandtrooper, etc.  The loop is radio chatter and sound effects giving the illusion that you're in "contact" with other troopers.  The MP3 player is used to broadcast the loop.  Just another way of creating a Star Wars-y environment during a troop.

Not silly at all, Christina.

I have a Rom/FX without the MP3 player.

Of course, just last week, I had an amplifier, speaker, and MP3 player delivered so I could add the TK loop to my armor. ;)

It's not a bad idea to get it if you think you'll be inclined to use it at some time.

WAIT! I thought the primary purpose of the player was to throw on boogie music to dance to while trooping.

Man I've really have to start paying attention more.  ;)
