Here are some ideas I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are others: 1. Stick with FX armor. It's the "largest" molded. 2. (EASY) Cut the cod from the ab and the butt from the back plate. You can add shims here, and they will be mostly (if not entirely covered by the belt. This will close the gap between the top of the ab and the chest. 3. (HARD) Cut the bottoms off the thighs. Add 1 or 2" of shim all the way around. Fill & sand, then repaint.
