Coastertk[TK]
By "shims" do you mean"Cover Strips"? Shims are used to fill in gaps where your armor doesn't quite fit right because your belly gets in the way. Cover Strips are used to cover the Butt Joints or Seams of your arms and legs. Be sure to do the inside strips first. This way you can watch your pieces as they cure. Sometimes they shift on you. Either way... Measure, mark, score and snap. gazmosis[501st]
Cover strips should measure in the close proximity to: 15 mm wide for the arms, 20 mm wide for the leg fronts, 25 mm wide for the leg backs. I have cut mine using both a table saw and a razor knife. The razor knife is the safer method. Get a straight edge, mark your width and cut. I highly suggest clamping the straight edge to the plastic! This prevents the straight edge from sliding off your mark. Whichever method you use, you will be left with a tiny raised edge you can feel with your fingertip. Remove thus or the cover strip will not sit totally flat on your surface.
