SorcererX[501st] Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 Hello. I have a friend that has access to making parts for certain things. But the problem is she has to work with PLA instead of ABS due to asthma. She said painting PLA proves to be difficult. Anyone have suggestions? Aaron Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 Really depends on what problems she is having, some plastics need sanding before painting to help the paint adhere, others are quite greasy and silicon based, there is an additive you can add to paint to help with that, also there is another additive you can add to help with flexing, ie for plastic car bumpers. Most automotive paint suppliers can help with the additives, could be a good idea to talk with one in your local area Quote
SorcererX[501st] Posted April 16, 2014 Author Report Posted April 16, 2014 Thanks for the info I will try some things out. Another friend of mine is pretty wicked at painting cars, I will pick his brain too. Quote
