Rear scope cap, broke (Hasbro)

Howdy!

 

I've just started on my Hasbro conversion. And when I was trying to remove the rear scope cap. It broke. I've basically glued togehter the pieces. Any ideas what to use to fill in the cracks?

Cover the hole from the back with some fabric and CA glue, then put some bondo on the outside. Sand. Paint.

Or find a bottle cap of the same size

A cool mod to do is this:

 

1. get an empty Scotch tape roll (some sort of small tape roll). Paint it.
2. Cut screw post from inside scope so the barrel is hollow.
3. Get a small plastic magnifying glass (dollar stores sell them in eyeglass repair kits)
4. Cut magnifying glass down to size, and glue into one side of the tape roll. OPTIONAL: Put picture of crosshairs behind lens
5. Glue tape roll to end of scope
