ANH TK (TM) Drop Box - ideal depth dimension?

Hi All,

 

I'm not quite ready to start a build thread just yet but I was wondering if anybody nows the ideal depth of the drop box? I've looked around the forums but I can't find this detail and as it's going to be my first cut I want to get it right.

Mine are little more than 1/2" total. My boxes are 1/2" each and when put together the inside sticks out a little making it the slightly deeper.

Paul told me the depth should be 15 mm.

Well if 1/2 inch is correct for each piece (or 12.7mm for us non-imperial types) then the total depth when put together will be 14.7mm (allowing for 2mm ABS thickness). I'll try 15mm for each piece first and see how it looks.

Remember, you can always trim more, but you cannot add back, so trim some and see how it looks. If it needs more, then trim a little more.
