Dday[501st] Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 So I painted some tube stripes and the color bled a bit out of the masking I made, so the lines aren't super crisp. Should I wait for it to dry, then use a blade to scrape it back to clean it, or how do I clean this up? I understand photos rock, but I don't have any at this moment, so I hope you can envision what I am talking about. Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) If the paint bled thru just alittle bit, you can let it dry and scrape off the excess with a wooden toothpick. Edited October 23, 2012 by SCTrooper Quote
Dday[501st] Posted October 22, 2012 Author Report Posted October 22, 2012 wooden toothpick, genius, thanks! Quote
Oztrooper[TK] Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 You can use wooden toothpicks for any part of the armor that requires paint...they work like magic to remove stray paint and make the edges of whatever you paint look sharper....just be gentle and don't push too hard because being wood they will start to feather out and lose their point... Potty Meister Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Toothpicks work great. I even dipped it in some paint thinner to make it a little easier. Just be careful Quote
Dday[501st] Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 I tested the theory and it really works great. Now if only I could get the paint to not bleed through... Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 The templets I use bleed once in a while, probably because I didn't take enough time to get them seated properly. There is always one side that will come out perfect and the other side.. I"ll use the toothpick. Painting the details is definitly worth the extra work. Quote
