Shoulder to back plate straps

So I'm gathering materials for my suit and one question I wasn't to turn up easily in the search was about the shoulder connections.

 

I understand, elastic from chest to back, small elastic around the plastic shoulder straps that are free floating in the back and glued to chest in the front.

 

So the interior elastic should be how wide about? 1.5in, 1.25in? I imagine it just needs to be slightly smaller then the plastic armor straps, but since I don't have armor yet, I don't really know a good measurement.

 

Also, the small elastic around the plastic straps, .5in, .25in?

My rs suit has shoulder straps at 1 3/4

The smalla elastic is 5/32

I just measured my RT shoulder straps the other day they are exactly 2 inches, not sure if that differs from other suits, but I am using 1 and 3/4 for elastic FYI.

Thanks for the replies! I bought heavy duty 1 1/2 already, so it should be ok, even if it is a little smaller. Now I just need to get the 5/32 for the shoulder.
