9Volt batterys getting hot

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had any good solutions for 9-volt battery housings inside the bucket? I noticed the batteries that were powering the fans getting pretty warm after just a couple of minutes. I saw one person had used velcro, but if the batteries are getting this warm this quickly, I don't think the adhesive on the velcro would last long.

Any solutions/pics?

Thanks!

Use the search box for fan wiring. This happens all too often. What you're doing is connecting the + and - from the fan to switch as well as the + and - of the battery. Connect the - from the fan and battery directly (not the switch) then connect the + from the fan and battery to the separate posts on the switch.

Correct, you are shorting out the battery big time
