giric thren Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 i was in my garage working on my helmet, and since it is mesquito season i was wearing OFF! ACTIVE ( orange can) and as i was working i noticed that the ABS shavings had collected where my arms were, and upon wiping them off i noticed it had becom rough instead of being glossy. I urgently used windex and it helped alot but when a light shines on it you can see the remainting rough patch!!!!!! IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO REPAIR THIS WITH SOME POLIsH OR WHATEVER PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!! Quote
Kahler TK-8029 Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 (edited) Use sandpaper. Okay, now that you think I'm completely insane. LOL!!! No, seriously. I use sandpaper all the time to buff out my armor. You just start with a low grit paper and work up to a fine grit. The trick is using super fine grit paper in the first place. Depending on the amount of damage, you can choose lower or higher grits. For example, if you get plastic welder on your armor, you can start out with an 1800 grit and work your way up to 12,000 grit. The 12,000 grit is what really does the trick. It almost super shines armor. Here's a place I found online that you can get these papers from....... ----- I hope this helps.
