My completed TK costume. Had to adjust the velcro on the shoulder bells to make them sit right. Placed foam blocks to help hold the thigh pieces and forearm greeves in place. I still have to add the velcro straps on the inside of the shoulder bells. It squeaks alot when I walk because of the shoes. The shoes are a little wide at the ankle so it rubs the calf armor. Just waiting on my helmet to get back from a friend I made here on FISD, gloves, and my neck seal to come and this ladies and gentlemen will be complete. Finished the Thermal Detonator today. Oh yea I need to get an E-11 Blaster. Whoo! This has been a fun project!

This is my first build so don't go nuclear on me.

Not bad....only thing bugging me is the thighs. Looks like you have a similar set of armour to mine. I had to do a lot of modification to get a nice taper to the thighs. Looks good and fits you well.

It would be easier to host your photos on a third-party site (Flickr, Photobucket, etc.) and use the image tool. That way, one doesn't have to click on the photo and be taken off the forum page to see it in detail :)

But getting to the question at hand, two things I would suggest is (1) replace the black straps on your drop boxes with white straps (you already know that), and (2) taper down the right thigh. FX kits are notorious for having barrel-shaped thighs, especially the right thigh.

What kind of boots are those? They look like "Elvis" style mariarchi boots, which are not approvable. Do you have a close-up picture?

I used some rivets on the front to attach to the ab plate to an extension that I cut down in width. Then riveted the kidney plate (to nothing) and then placed velcro on it. That helped to keep it nice and snug.

Looking good buddy. You need to trim the corners of the belt at forty five degree angles. Also I would trim the top and bottom of the belt to make it less thick. Great build so far :)

Mike,

I would check out the EIB requests thread and look at the applicants' armor. I would shorten up your drop box straps with white. Your right thigh looks like it is a little lower than your left, but that could be the way you're standing. Instead of Velcro, I would suggest using black elastic belting from Jo-Anns or Michael's and snaps. Velcro does work, but wears out fast. Just my opinion.

Where's your bucket???
