Hello all! Greetings from Norway. I am building the AM armor and I am also building the AP helmet. One thing I notice when I got it was the the color on the AP and the color on the AM body really dont match. Also the AM body is very shiny while the AP helmet is matte. I can see from pictures that some AP helmets are shiny so what can I do to make these match more??

One more question. Do I glue the black sealing-thing at the edge of the opening after the helmet is completed

Hope someone can help me.

Use Novus Plastic Polish to make abs plastic shiny. I used #2 followed by #1. I went to my local harley davidson and picked up some bottles, but since you're in Norway maybe try getting it off the bay or other online retailer.

Also keep in mind that some armor producers use different composites of plastic. They may be made out of the same material but have a different chemical composition, so the coloration may be slightly offset. Most noticeable is an HIPS helmet and ABS armor; or visa versa.

The brow trim and neck trim are not glued on. The top brow is held in by pressure and the bottom just fits over the edge. Haven't had a problem with it falling off, but you can glue it if you want.

Pretty much what Tim said.

In Spain, at least, Novus is difficult to get, even on Harley Davidson stores. So other options could be other plastic polish, specially for modelers (I believe Tamiya has one) or a mild, water based car polish cream. For example, anything that can be used to polish a guitar may be used for your armor. :)

Cheers.

I've used car polish on my AP helmet before. Worked pretty well.

This guy's Brother worked on his AP helmet, using some car polish (links below):
