First troop, 6 1/2 hours. Armor bite from right bicep and armor bite from ab plate across my back. Feeling pretty damn good, had fun, more to come tomorrow!
-
They funny thing with using the above picture as reference (the one with handguards on the wrong side) is that the trooper behind him him has them correctly, yet nobody that does this mistake, notice that.
Yep I looked at that and slapped my head! Oh well that is why they were attached with velcro, so they could be changed or replaced!

Good looking kit At least you didn't have Mr. No Stripes on your wall for reference
LOL, Hey I kinda like the nice clean helmet look!
-
Found the image that made me mess up my handplates lol. I have this printed on my wall!

Ah, sorry Rob misread lol. I have to attach them better to the Nomax gloves tonight so I'll switch them, thank you!
-
Thanks guys! The handplates are what came with my ATA kit and will be changed out when I can. I have to get non-latex ones though, the wife is allergic. I thought the belt felt low when I put the armor on, but didn't have anyone who had squired before to help out suiting. This is the first time the photographer had been this close to someone in TK armor lol!

Just need some trimming to be able to bend knees easier and some foam in the fore arm.

Wish me luck!

Star Wars related, 501st cast. Like it alright, only wish is they could get the sound levels evened out better. It drives me crazy when listening at work and I keep having to raise and lower the volume to keep it reasonable and not bugging my coworkers. I need to start downloading to my ipod and using headphones again.

As always great kit man! Can I ask what the antenna is for?

Just out of curiosity, are there any legitimate armor makers in Australia now? I only know of a few makers of resin parts for blasters and other props. The IP address this person posts from is definitely an Australian ISP's address.

Dash, how were the fumes from that?
I reinforced the mic tips using sock pieces and glue and then painted the inside with Rust-oleum Painter's Touch Flat Black using a foam brush. No smell at all, but it does take a couple coats to cover, swab it on , wait 5 minutes so that layer is good and tacky and do another coat. I bought an 8 oz can and have 90% of it left over.
-
Ah coolness, thanks for clearing that up
-
Or if you need a place to host the file for free let me know. Happy to post it on one of my websites.

You might have luck finding the ear screws if you look for screws used for the cover plates for light switches. Then all you have to do is find a nut to fit them and you are good.
-
VEry nice find there mate! Hmm don't think the wife would let me snatch one up after buying the T-21 hehe. Can't wait to see it in person.

Welcome from another WV member

I'm also using a welder's shield, but I use velcro to hold the lens strip in place. I trim the shield down to fit without rubbing into the screws fro the ears and put the hooks side of the velcro on the lens and the soft part of the velcro on the helmet.

Wow! Fresh scones!? Why do you have to live so far away! LOL happy birthday man!
-
Very nice indeed! What did you use to fill the gaps on the folding stock?
-
Well, if you go ESB with your helmet, you have to cut it off to be screen accurate.
Karin
Ah, that may the difference I was thinking about. Nope, mine is ANH.
-
Thanks guys I was hoping that was the answer! So many helmets I have seen with a "U" shaped trim that I thought maybe it was supposed to have part cut off.
-
Ok, I'm sure this has been asked before but for some reason I am not having any luck with my search fu today. I just received a bunch of neck trim from Seals Direct, my question is simple, do I need to trim part of the "S" off or does the extra part of the S make a nice edge inside the helmet?

Here is something that you might find useful, it was written by a member of my garrison.....
When I went to send in my 501st application, I got really sick of having to sort through the list and find the available IDs, so this is a little program I wrote in C# that does it for you.The program accesses the online 501st roster, downloads it, and displays the untaken IDs, and some stats. If your internet goes down, the program will read from the backup file instead of the online list.Right now there are too many available IDs to fit on one screen, so it also gives you the option to save the results to a file. It will be saved as Available501stIDs.txt in the folder the .exe is run from. This is a very quick project so it doesn't have a lot of error catching or nice features, but it gets the job done. If there is a lot of support I may expand it to be better and offer it in the Detachment forums, etc.Make sure to Save rather than RunThank you for that! I was doing it the hard way, I copied the entire table from the 501st site and put it in Excel and manually added in the "holes" with highlights so I could quickly go through the list when I get the armor done.

Wow nice work! I'm wanting a T-21 to carry, but there doesn't seem to be many places that make them. If you decide you are going to make several of these, put my in line as your first customer!
