Help us to help you! Im pretty new as well and I asked loads of questions... so many so that I thought I was being annoying to everyone but they answered ALL of my Q's and even ones i didnt even ask! The search engine is priceless here, there is so much info you. I myself dove into this full swing, I'm about 95% done with my commander TK and starting a clone after I leave afghanistan...If I can work on my rig in this hell hole im sure you will have no problem with yours! you've come to the right place, these people are very very helpful and nice!

I hate how the updated orginals have the holo-images of the "new" emperor...its been a long time since Ive seen the original originals so i cant quite recall how he looked. also I always wondered since EP 1 came out if the actor who plays the emperor is the same as in the originals.

well I have some pics of me sitting down. I put my armor on recently and my shoulder bells and biceps keep coming un-velcroed and it drives me nuts...something to work on with the snap system when I get back to germany. 8290... awesome mod with the legs! I may go that route although I noticed you have alot of black showing on the back of your knees... something id like to avoid but where there is a will there is a way! i got my boots in and they are the wrong type, they are cheap, and they are too big... sucks. I was thinking of moving to a canvas belt as well. I need many more elastic velcro straps. especially for the connection of the cod and butt, whenever I sit down the velcro comes undone. Its becoming more and more clear that snaps are the way to go with most things. I have a new TK bucket that off to be painted for me by a friend since I cant do it here and I should have it once I go on leave. Finally my voice box, helmet fans, and the foam cubs to keep my biceps and other trouble spots in place, are finally being shipped to me as of a few days ago. lots of work to be done. Once I get back to germany I was thinking of weathering the rest of the white on the armor since the blue parts are all scratched up...so it looks odd having scratches on the blue and the white being perfectly clean...ya know? anyway here are some new pic links.. profile, front back and of sitting... ill get better pics of me sitting later. (oh these are before I got my white boots so dont mind my tan combat boots!)

The AP armor looks awesome! its coming along geat. i know how you feel on the skinniness tho. I have been building my commander TK here in afghan its hard haha, I still have alot of work to do. I've also have had a hard time with the thighs fitting. They are right about the E6000, I ordered some (still waiting for it to get here but it will be worth it) Not sure if its been said but modding the cod and butt pieces were such a great idea for me...sitting and bending over is such a plus! Its looks great and I cant wait to see it all finished!

You guys know best! There is still much to do on the armor itself. I have the ab buttons, just waiting on something to help put them in without destroying the armor. Im ontop of the lenses, ordered a few flat ones a week or so ago but I was thinkin of getting the bubble... not sure what would you guys go with? I bought a rivot gun so as soon as that gets in the sniper plate is goin on. I have E6000 on the way as well so then the thermal det tube will be put on the back and the thighs arms and shins will be fixed up. then its on to the cod and butt mods. The stickers will have to wait till I get back to the states and get home since I have little time left where I am and I dont want to mail anything else here. Im also multi-tasking at the same time I'm in the middle of getting some clone armor to work on... once I'm back in Germany I wil have lots of time on my hands to work on both. do you know where I can get some snap system stuff and more elastic pieces? I jsut havent gotten around to getting any. I got some stuff from triktoys over a month ago..almost a month and a half and still havent recived the stuff. I admit mail does take a long time to get out to me, but I dont have much longer here and dont want to commit to getting something and have it get to this place after I'm gone.

So I on the hunt for a new bucket. My current one has chips in the paint all over it, the rubber brow strip isnt rubber and is part of the helmet. the whole helmet itself is one piece and the mic tips are going to be a task and a half to get off. the bucket isnt even glossy looking. Is that normal for any type of bucket? I was thinking of getting a TM bucket and painting it for my TFU commander kit. any suggestions on a better bucket or would TM be the way to go?

I am looking forward to modding the cod and butt piece. but I'm waiting on more velcro and elastic pieces (which I'll be needing much more of) I've searched the site for a mod on the legs but came up with nothing. your pics will totally help keith. Thanks for the support kevin, its been difficult building it here and has taken most of the free time I have but its so worth it. The hardest part is going to be getting it back to Germany. Oh I got a few scratches (nothing that cut into the armor) on one of my tight plates.... anything I can use to take that off?

oh and another question that is racking my mind. the grey stickers on the bucket... on the back where there are two, the blue stripe on my bucket goes right thru one of the places where the grey sticker should go. what should I do about this?

ok so I took some more pictures of my kit. Changed a few things, brought the chest plate in closer to my body. still need to add the sniper plate and thermal detonator holder on the back. Tried uploading the pics but for some reason the site just doesnt want to work at the moment (flickr) and this site still refuses to let me upload pics straight to the thread, so sadly from now on I will only be able to post links, unless someone comes along and puts them up for me (thanks again smitty).

I agree on the velcro on the shins. even a skinny guy like myself have a hardtime putting on the shins without parting the back. I also realized I MUST adhere the thighs, because the back keep un-velcroing. my E6000 can't get here soon enough

haha I know the feeling of wanting to sit after a long march!! I was hesitant on gettin the commander version, and I slept on it for a while but after looking at it alot the kit grew on me and I had to get it. I have a bad habit of being an individual (even in the army, gets me in trouble) But whatever the regs on the commander paint scheme become I will totally be with it, there is nothing more than being accepted into the legion.

Thanks deatrin, this will help me out SO much. as of right now almost all my stuff is velcroed. I ordered some of that E6000 so when that gets to me I'll be takin off that velcro!

so I have to ask. is the ABS glue used to keep the velcro on? or is the velcro nixt all together and only the ABS glue is used to keep the shins and what-not together?

ok so this is decided so far to further along my kit. I will be modding the cod and butt pieces. I will be looking into shoulder bell, chest and thigh mods. Im still waiting on the neck seal and boots to get it. I just purchased a rivot gun. I know that movement will be difficult, I obviously wont be able to go to a track meet in this armor but sitting will be a big plus! I admit I rushed into getting the armor, but since finding this site and talking to you all, I will be taking my sweet time on this. From reading the site there are very few TK commanders, that is if that is their designation (TK) I read a thread debating this that it should be FU. Also Im getting positive remarks from my armor but I dont see much of my paint scheme around. does 501st allow such armor?

Sorry Joey, No Offense but we have had problems in the past with info leaking out here about this and that. so I try and keep thing quiet as much as possible. I'm running a risk even posting these pics.

I looked into modding the chest plate. I noticed that one thread was on the curvature of the bottom. my seems to curve decently as well. not sure if that is a problem with everyone else? On the legs, all I want it to be able to sit normally (once I mod the cod and butt pieces). I'll have to wait on my other supplies to bring the chest, back, and shoulders up and closer. as for finding a rivot gun. I was looking on amazon and there are so many different types and sizes. Is there are certain type I should be looking for? getting an air one will be out of the question for me, even tho we have an air compressor here I won't be fixing my kit in the sand. Could anyone provide a good place to purchase parts for armor?

Not so much overwhelmed as relieved to get such feedback. All I have to cut the ABS with are trauma sheers. is there anything that would work better to get an overall straighter cut? I was thinkin of nomex flight gloves to the hands. they are easy for me to get since they are a military item. i have the sniper plate, just not the material to attach it. and thanks for letting me know about the belt. its just something i would of never even thought of, and i call myself a star wars fan haha. would i look in the same place as the chest mod for a mod for the thigh plates so i can bend my legs better?

ok so some of you know of my spur the moment kit build here in Afghanistan. I have little to no supplies and hardly any time to work but working I am with whatever free time I have. I have posted some pics from my newcomers thread (hello from Afghanistan) but I'd like to make this thread the one that follows my outfitting. and still for reasons unknown to me I cannot post pictures via direct upload from this site because it says there is no room to do so.
