  1. Hello Xavier!

I'm still not part of the 501st (I'm waiting for my first armor) but I have custody of my 5 YO son, and we've been through a lot together, so I know exactly what you're talking about. As fathers we try to give them the best experience we can, and sometimes it's our duty to carry the weight on our shoulders. It's not easy sometimes.

I read about what happened to you, and it's all very sad. But I'm happy that you found a way out of your tragedy and seem to be returning to normal life again.

My best wishes for you and your family, from sunny Spain.

    D.

  2. I just saw this today...

Pablo, the care and love you put on both your armor and your blaster really shines through.

You deserve everything you've got. And it's most impressive knowing that both the armor and the blaster were firsts builds. What a clever and skillful fellow you are!

I'm very happy for you and you are trully an example and an inspiration for all of us.

    CONGRATS!

    Kind regards from Spain,

    Dmian.

  3. First, who is AP and where can he be found?

According to the legend AP is a merchant that lives in Mos Eisley, but I'm not sure...

No, really, isn't there someone in your garrison with an AP armor that can recommend you? I mean, I'm getting an AP and someone from my garrison (Spanish Garrison) served as contact to get to AP. You can also get in contact with him using our old friend Google. But don't look on eBay, you can only reach him through e-mail.

2nd, what about MRCE buckets? I really want to start with the helmet first. If I get that, the other mods will be a must. Thanks for the advice guys.

I don't know much about MRCE, but AP is what everybody recommends if you want to be screen accurate. Either that or a Gino's or a TE2, but Gino's are almost impossible to get and I don't have much infor about TE2 or how to get one (an TE2's are not made of ABS if I'm not wrong, so it won't match a FX.)

  4. Chris dont rush into anything mate, these guys around here can point you in the right direction :D Theres only realy one person who sells AP helmets and thats AP himself B) i believe a lot cheaper than $325 ...

Exactly, If you want to get an AP, go to AP. Unless it's an already assembled AP helmet (because you want to avoid the hassle) you're risking yourself getting a recast, or who knows what.

Ask for high quality pictures, specially the mouth part, the chin and the ears, where you can see the level of detail of the moulds used to make the helmet.

Don't buy without asking the forum experts first. :)

    Regards.

  5. THAT IS SO INCREDIBLE!!!! :o

Word fail me, you're great, your son should be proud of his dad, he's great in that armor and I don't know what else to say...

I'm waiting for my first armor (an AP actually) and I know my 5 YO son will like to get one, but I don't have means to make something like that. So, in a way I'm jealous (but I'm so happy for your son's luck.)

Sorry, but I don't know what else to say but that you made a dad's and a son's dream come true, and that's so incredible that you're now my new hero.

    CONGRATS!

    :D

  6. Welcome Damian! Consider yourself lucky to have all the support of the Spanish Garrison. When I first bought my armor (when I was living in Spain), there WAS no Spanish Garrison!

    Un saludo y bienvenidos hermano!

    Thanks Sandeman!

Wow, from the state of Washington to Spain... what a contrast! :)

I hope you enjoyed your stay in Spain.

Yes, the Spanish Garrison is making huge progress. We're now the fourth in Europe, behind Germany, UK and France. And at this rate we're probably be third soon. :)

And also the level of armors here is quite high, with a majority of troopers using APs.

Add to that a very friendly atmosphere and you'll know why I'm a happy recruit :D

Hope to hear from you soon. Saludos!

  7. Thanks all of you! :D

@John: The SW Exhibition ended on March 15th.

I'd love to see it in Buenos Aires, but the plane tickets are really expensive.

@Pablo: I saw the video of your blaster, and it's AWESOME! It's an inspiration for all of us here. Good work man!

So, today I went with my son to the opening of a Toys'R'Us here in Madrid and met a bunch of the guys (and girl) from the Spanish Garrison. It was really great. They are trully nice people and were very helpful and kind to me and everybody else, specially as it was a hot day here in Madrid.

I'm really looking forward to the day I can wear my AP. :)

    Regards.

  8. Hello all,

My name is Damian. I was born in Argentina, but I live in Madrid, Spain.

I've been following this scene for quite a long time (since "whitearmor" was an online store selling FXs and the Wookie Cantina was the reference for all things Stormtrooper) but it was not untill now that I've been able to get a suit.

I've just ordered an AP (curiously, almost simultaneously with a couple of Spanish guys) and I'm waiting for it. To be honest I'm preparing things, like getting the tools I need, the undersuit, etc. because I'm very anxious but I don't want to bother anybody, so I keep myself busy...

I've been accepted at the public forums of the Spanish Garrison and those guys are helping me a lot. I'm also learning a lot at this forums and at the Blaster Builder Club. :D

I'm going to use stukatrooper's pictures as reference, because I really like how he built his AP.

So, I just wanted to say "hola!" to all of you.

I'm amazed at the quantity of information available right now. When I got interested in the armor, information was scarce and it was all surrounded by a halo of mistery. Now you have tutorials everywhere and it's very easy to find a way to build your suit the way you like it.

I'll be hanging around and I'll let you know when my AP arrives.

    Regards.
