  1. The sights arrived today, safe and sound. I've already installed them on my E-11 and putty'ed them. Hopefully I'll have them painted up tonight (or tomorrow). Look for the WIP!

    Thanks again!

    Glad to hear it!

    Bring on the pics!

  2. I hooked mine up in parallel. They work just fine. Electronics guys set me straight, I believe hooking them up is series would double the resistance.

Series doubles the impedance (assuming the two speakers are equal -- the formula is speaker1 + speaker2) and usually results in lower volume. Plus side is the amp doesn't have to work as hard.

Parallel halves the impedance (again assuming equal speakers) and usually results in higher volume because the amp has to work harder.

As long as you don't exceed the rating of the amp parallel should be just fine.

  3. Not much new but I got the barrel installed.

It's not quite centered but it looks good enough to me.

Right now it's being supported only at the back. The front end will support it at the front and hopefully straighten things up a tad.

Also got the stock mount installed.

I wish now that I'd used a piece with a larger O.D. but oh well.

Also screwed up in that the ejector can no longer slide in from the back.

I'll have to figure out some way around that but I'm not going to worry about it too much. It would have been nice to make it functional but I can live with it being static.

On to some bondo work I suppose.

Does my grip look positioned properly front to back?

  4. Just bought this from Scootch and unfortunately it's just too small for my head (with glasses).

    Great bucket otherwise.

    Standard issue AP.

Assembled with screws only for easy modding.

    Hand painted traps and frown.

Frown came pre-drilled but no mesh installed so I'll throw some in.

It's exactly as I received it from Scootch.

Asking just what I paid: $250 plus shipping.

I jumped the gun and ordered some flat lenses from Smitty so if the buyer wants them I'll have Smitty send them to the new owner when they're ready.

    Thanks

  5. De burring plastic is a snap with one of these...

    Click me...

Copper huh! That will be worth a penny huh! How much will that weigh?

    Good work... :D

I've been using one of those on the copper -- borrowed it from a coworker.

Never thought about it for the PVC.

I wanted to use aluminum but all I could get a hold of easily was PVC, steel, or copper.

The copper is lighter than the steel but not by a whole lot but it is sure easier to drill into.

It's also a much closer size to the BBC PVC template.

A full machine shop would sure be nice but alas......

Except for the deburrer and a wire wheel I did the above with my drill and some files.

I hope the hard part is done and all I have to worry about now is which glue to use on the painted copper.

  6. Just had to document this since it's probably all downhill from here.

My hat's off to all of you who work with PVC but I went through about 8 feet of it, screwing up every time.

The good thing about it is that it's soft but the bad thing about it..... is that it's soft.

One slip and you've got a gouge that ruins it all.

And I don't know how you debur all those holes..... long strings of melty white plastic everywhere!

With the copper you've really got to work at it before you screw it up.

Of course I managed that too.... this is my second try.

Next step is to install some sort of barrel centered in the copper.

I've got a piece of stainless already cut but the centering will be the tricky part.

    Then on to priming.

This is my first attempt at..... well, anything so I'm trying to take it slow.

Fingers crossed it'll turn out ok.

  7. Bah...still no tracking number. :(

    Just heard from Stephane.

The 20 units didn't mean 20 kits in-hand.... it meant 20 kits would be made for this offering.

The kits are being molded and shipped one by one, hence the delay.

He also said he was filling older orders first and since these were apparently offered on multiple sites, I guess there's no way of knowing where one is on the list and from the posts on here it doesn't look the list in the opening post is the actual shipping order.

    Patience, I guess, is key.

    ;)

  8. Similar to DoopyDoos but not quite the same.

I've had both and to me these feel more substantial although there is more flashing on these.

I'm also pretty sure that I'll ship faster than DoopyDoos.

Here's a pic of the actual parts:

And here's a pic from TK560's sale page:

He charges $48 plus shipping so I'm not even breaking even.

I noticed when I went to take the picture that I've got the front and rear sights as well so for $2 each those could also be added to the set.

    Thanks

  9. I've got an extra set of E-11 blaster parts from TK650 that I'm not going to use.

Hengstler (no logo), M38 scope, grip, front stock, end cap, and barrel tip all in resin cast from an actual Sterling L2A3.

Parts are new, exactly as I received them with minor air bubbles and flashing.

Asking $48 shipped in the US.

    International shipping at cost.
