HOWTO: Make a Grip Cross Hatch Cutter
Werstrooper replied to Werstrooper's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Hopefully you end up with something like this You can see some lines are a little deep so it give the look of wide tracks. My cutter will just need some of the grooves deepend and then try it agian, should come out perfect but I'm actually happy with this one So that's it for now, if I missed explaining anything or if you have any questions feel free to ask I'll be glad to answer them. Now get Cross Hatching!! Trav -
HOWTO: Make a Grip Cross Hatch Cutter
Werstrooper replied to Werstrooper's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Ok so now for testing your cutter... I used some 1.5mm PVC (i'm pretty sure) and marked a big 60 degree diamond on it, this will be used for lining your straight edge to. Find a straight end, a large steel ruler is best. you may want to use some clamps aswell. To prevent the Hatch cutting blade from cutting/scoring your straight edge is to gentle file or sand off the sharp corner that will run along your straight edge When you make a cut along the plastic hold the blade handle like this (best method for cross hatching) -
HOWTO: Make a Grip Cross Hatch Cutter
Werstrooper replied to Werstrooper's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Ok so hopefully your blade and handle should be looking something like this (minus the cuts which is coming now!) now take your dremel and a thin cutting disc and make sure you have some steady hands. Sorry for the lack of pics with the cutting of the blade, it was the first thing I did before picking up the camera... with a little basic math and a ruler, look at the width of the dremel blade and the distance of the the cuts, the more distance between cuts the less TPI you get I made about 12 cuts across 20mm blade and got 19 TPI .....................................................you need to in so the dremel blade cuts at about 20 - 30 degrees^^^ -
Ok so I got tired of trying to find some good cross hatch material to use for my E-11 Grip, so I thought I'd just make it. Turns out you can too! Sorry about the hand drawn temp image, I'm not that handy with PC drawing programs.. THINGS YOU NEED Dremel and thin cutting discs Smooth flat file (optional but suggested) Drill and drill bits 6-7 Inches off a wooden Broomstick Small piece of hard steel or stainless steel So here is what I made, a Cross Hatch Cutter. This will cut/scratch/score what ever angle diamond grip size you want. The cutting teeth are set at about 19 TPI (Teeth per inch) most toy gun grips I looked at were about 16 TPI, I chose 19 so it would be a bit finer. First you need to find a piece of metal that is suitable. Hanging weights from old blinds, left over spanner from a kit cubboard ect Ideal size is 2mm X 15mm X 20mm Get out the dremel, files drills or whatever and get cutting 2mm X 15mm X 20mm You'll need to drill a hole in the centre and find a wood screw that fits, ensure its the same diameter as the hole you drill to prevent it moving around on the handle. Now get the wooden handle and mark a line approx 50 degrees at one of the ends. Cut the line so the handle has a 50 degree flat at the end about 5mm in make another cut but only cut about 3/4 of the way Turn the side over so you look down at the flat side and cut where the previous cut finished Now mark out around your cutting blade (yet to explain) make sure the step in the handle is smaller than your cutting cross hatch blade. Also drill the hole to mound the blade. NOTE: remember to drill the hole so the thread on the screw you use has enough grip to hold tight but not small enough so the wood cracks.

I've been researching these cylinders for a few days and thought I'd add to this thread http://sterlingblasterconversion.blogspot....astech-e11.html - This is a great site that i've been using, it has heeps of high res pictures of some original power cylinders being used on a Sterling Build. http://whitearmor.net/index.php?show...+Power+Cylinder - This is a thread made by Sskunky where he has put up some measurments for the cylinders (halfway down the page) Also Synaptyx has made up a great Template for you to print and use. using info gained from darksidesithlord and Sskunky Thanks heeps guys you make life for us noobies so much easier ;-)

Questions about the MR CE bucket
Werstrooper replied to Stealth_Trooper_Pablo's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Thought I'd just ask this question here... I'm about to buy a MRCE from England and thought I read somewhere that there is a range of MRCE's that are too thick (or small inside) to wear? is this true? if so what do I need to look out for? -

Werstrooper replied to Baxterianism's topic in General Weapons Discussion
WOW! those are great! Can't wait to see what they look like in my scope ;-) awesome stuff mate -
Sorry for the bump, but I felt this thread should be viewed more.

That's what I was just thinking, I seen a thread on a FX recasted helmet that looks the same as your kit (un trimmed) so from what i've been reading, any untrimmed FX kit is actually a recast.

Help reading the templates (ANH E-11)
Werstrooper replied to Werstrooper's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
My FX kit just turned up!! wwoooooooo!! what a nice kit! anyway... The barrel is almost finished, all the holes are drilled and the slots cut out, just need to file the cutouts and trim the barrel lenght and i'm all good. went to the hardware store last night and picked up a dremel accessory kit and some plastibond (that stuff is expensive) i've lost the computer cable for my sony camera so the pics are running a little behind, i'll need to save them to the laptop and upload them. That's if the sony memory stick fits into the laptop :-( -

Help reading the templates (ANH E-11)
Werstrooper replied to Werstrooper's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
well my alloy tubing turned up yesterday (took a week to travel 2 hours on a truck!) so i'll be setting up to drill it tonight. I've finished all the parts for the folding stock, aswell as the magazine. I've started putting the folding stock together it's slmost ready for welding, then i'll clean them up on the linisher and sandblast them ready for priming. tonight if i get time i'll bend the mag housing aswell, kinda afraid i'll stuff it up so I made a cardboard bending template, that still isnt helping i'll post pics soon -

Help reading the templates (ANH E-11)
Werstrooper replied to Werstrooper's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Thankyou so much Chris, that clears all that I needed to hear. I can start back on my temps again now! I also will be welding (and spot welding) it all together, aswell as the aluminium. I'm hoping that i wont need to use any filler on my e-11 cheers agian mate! Trav -
hey guys i've got a couple main problems (regarding the templates anyway) 1) Are there two different types of Magazine clips (curved and straight)? 2) are there 2 different folding stocks? if not, are all the folding stock pieces used? i've cut out and dremeld the magazine housing, and most of the folding stock parts. now is where the confusion lies 3)the attached photo shows a blank clip and an end piece with bending tabs, what the hell are these used for? there's no way when folded that clip will fit into the magazine housing! 4) lastly, the pages that show a 3 1/2 inch ruler scale. does that scale need to match the inches on a ruler? because i follwed the printing guide and these have come out large it would really help if I had a scale E-11 to refference to :-( 3 times i've tried to make this thread, 1st time my comp frooze up after 20 mins of thinking and wording correctly, second i spilt coffee all over the fracking desk! will it work this time? :cries:

hahahah! i feel the fool now ok so my next question is, what do people use for the U tracks on the ROTJ blasters? or do all troops make ANH blasters? is there a thread that answers all this? cheers!
