I'm using the rustoleum that everyone suggests and doing everything in the directions including waiting a few min before applying 2nd and final coat... It looks GOOD. But I know I could get a smoother appearence. I'ts not orange peel but it does have a tiny bit of texture. My question is, did I do something wrong? Or can I give it a light polish or buff after it cures a good long while?

Yo, I've had a kit for well over a year now. Did the crappy overlap+velcro thing for a party a while back. But now taking apart and putting it all back together the RIGHT way. With 15 and 20mm coverstrips. Prob is I'm now not 100% sure which shin goes to what side and which is the inner or outer to said side? Pretty sure on the biceps but looking for input there as well! My kit had the 2 different biceps, thge sharp swoop V on one and the wide U on the other. Just wanting to be sure. I've waited this long to build it. Might as well make sure I do it right.

Is 20 and 15 what was most used in the movie or what is most used by the 501st?

I have a large piece of HIPS... how do I go about cutting it and making it look like the strips above? ie how do I get the strips clean and straight? And is there any curvature to any of the pieces?

So... who has the addy of modern suppliers AND part #s?

Built 1 helmet a few years ago and I'm about to start working on another... I really do think that the second rivet probably helped the look of the tubes as far as them matching up a bit better. I did the 2 screws in the main ear rivet hole. and they did want to work thereselves wonky. deffinately easier to get a tear etc. It would seem easier to just rivet the suckers real quick... But getting the right placement? I'd say you would want to do some trial and eror with small screws or long safety pins through the rivet holes? alot easier than tape for placement testing... I'm thinking I am gonna try the 4 rivet 6 screw method for my next stunt buildup. But paint BEFORE riveting? I would think these things were painted assembled originally... or else there would be paint under the ears? And adding neck trim FIRST? I would think you would pre trim the area, line em up, rivet, then trim whatever excess plastic doesnt match up, sand a bit, THEN add the trim?
