  1. Today I removed all of the excess E6000 and did final trimming/sanding on the return edges. I'm very happy with the results. Hoping to get the thighs and shins done over the Thanksgiving break.
  2. I fitted the fore arms and biceps then glued the cover strips on. Originally I though 60 magnets would be more than enough. I was right if this is all of the gluing I plan to do in one sitting. Lol
  3. Today I did some work on the armor. I cut all of the cover strips and wanted to make sure all of the 45 degree corner cuts were the same. Doing this by hand is very difficult, so I make a simple fixture to hold the pieces at exactly 45 degrees while I touched it to my belt sander. I was able to do all of them in less than 5 minutes.
  4. Continued. I did disassemble the helmet and paint the interior with Plastidip and mounted my lens from Trooper Bay using Chicago screws. This way I can replace it easily if needed. I bought a motor cycle helmet bag on eBay for $20 and cut my own TK numbers.
  5. I know it's been a while since my last post so I thought I would catch you up on my build. A few weeks ago I picked up a Huskey tote from Home Depot. I read that it will hold a TK minus the helmet. I need this one since it will fit in my Vette. I realized I never post any pictures of the amazing work Trooper Master did putting together and painting my helmet.
  6. Small update. Between trooping as Boba and Halloween, I haven't been able to work on my TK much. Halloween is a big deal at my house. I go nuts decorating the yard every year even though I don't have any kids. But...........yesterday my Quest Design Canada E-11 blaster showed up. This thing is really nice. I am so glad I went with them. This got me going and I started modding it right away. I made a trip to the local surplus store here in Orlando called Skycraft. If you are ever here on vacation and you are a maker/builder you need to go to Skycraft. You won't regret it. I went with the intention of getting hardware to upgrade the blaster and a large spring to go inside. I only picked up 1 screw, and they didn't have the right size spring so I grabbed some wire and bent my own. I also found a camera zoom assembly for $4.00 and an eye loupe for $2.00 that I gutted for the optics. I had to remove resin from the scope for the new optic to fit. Then I printed a reticle I found online and glued the optics in place. I still need to do a little weathering and add a few more details, but it is coming along nicely. More to come later.
  7. Thank you all for your motivation. I will keep you up to date with my progress.
  8. I've been reading and learning about TK builds and how the ISD helps along the way. The amount of info available here is amazing. Thank you for what you do here. This is my second 501st costume build. My First is ROTJ Boba Fett Hero that I built after being laid off in 2020 due to COVID. I've been trooping as Boba with the 501st and loving every minute of it for almost a year. The 501st will not allow more than 1 of the same character to troop at the same time. (Ex: not allowed to have 2 Vaders or Bobas or you get the idea.) You can have as many TK's as you like though. So, I decided to build a TK allowing me to go to more troops. I've got a good start on my build. All of the parts are in hand except the E-11 which is being built by Quest Designs and the belt since I won't know which size to buy until the armor is assembled. I commissioned my helmet build from Trooper Master and he did an amazing job. I am adding the fans, sound system, upgraded lenses & padding. I also painted the inside black with Plastidip. I've trimmed all of the armor and am ready to start gluing it together with E6000. A good friend of mine built 2 TK's to Centurion Level, one is a sand trooper. He is guiding me through my build. My goal is to get Centurion approval. After building a Boba Fett this should be fairly straight forward. (I hope)
