As you can see there is a large gap at the back of the ear, but I don't mind the front ear gap, as most of the original in ANH had these.

I hand painted all the details including the tube stipes. I still have some painting touch ups to complete as well as the cheek and back vents to add. The bottom needs trimming ready for the S trim and the left ear needs trimming and attaching.Unfortunately, I have lost my photos of my progress on this part of my build. Frustrated!! Annoyed by this as I struggled with this build. Here's is my helmet so far.

After completing my TD I decided to build my helmet.

Also as advised, with my TD I moved out each bracket by 5mm and trimmed the caps down to 20mm. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the advice. I closed the wrists by 10mm and tried them with my under suit and gloves, they look so much better now.
Many thanks.

I've decided to leave the armour for a bit and work on the thermal detonator after reading and taking notes from other TK build threads on the forums.
I still need to trim the panel and glue. The great thing about the RS kit is they have already attached the correct size clips and level 3 centurion black screws.
Before I trim the panel could one of our troopers confirm the dimensions of the panel? Width and length?
Many thanks in advance!

After my first fitting, I realised that the wrist part was still a little to big, so I re-measured and trimmed taking into account the the very helpful advice from other troopers of "measure twice (or 5 times), cut once!

Here are my forearms.

Where to start?
I decided to use the RS Propmasters youtube video and started with the biceps (apparently the easiest parts to build).
Please comment on my progress so far as I have never taken on a build this nerve wracking before.
Apologies, for not taking pics of all my trimming stages. I get caught up in the build and forget to document. This is something I will improve on as I progress through my build.

So the time has come for me to begin my journey and childhood dream of becoming a Stormtooper.
My name is Martyn Scully and a Hugh fan of all things Star wars sci-fi and 80's.
I received my BBB from RS and I couldn't believe that I have finally purchased TK stormtrooper stunt armour.

Thank you all for the very warm welcome.
cheers,
Martyn

Hi Everyone,
After years of dreaming, the time is finally here. A dream I'm sure the majority of you on here have...
Ever since I can remember (back in the 80's), I have wanted to be a Stormtrooper and now is that time. I have been spending the last couple of months trawling the internet, FISD and 501st forums, trying to find out as much as I can about the different types of armour and kits out there before committing myself fully. To cut a long story short, I have purchased a Stormtrooper (ANH) RS self build kit (currently awaiting delivery) and I cant wait to get started.
There is so much amazing info, tips and guidance on these forums from some amazing real fans of the genre, that I would be an idiot not to join and say hello!!
I look forward to getting to know more people with the same dreams as I, and will really appreciate any tips, ideas, guidance etc. with my build and eventually becoming 501st approved.
Cheers,
Martyn (Mar2D2)
